Fluctuating phone volume, like overcompression/Vox. True? Fix?
If so, and if I understand correctly from a couple forum posts, this can be eliminated or reduced by some sort of EFR setting.
Can someone explain what's going on with all this? If it can't be corrected, it sounds to me like a deal killer. Something more than a yes or no would be most helpful.
On mine, the phone volume did fluctuate. I followed others and turned on AFR to EFR on GSM speech (277634#*#). That solved the problem on my side, I did not hear volume flucatuation anymore. However, the callers on the other end heard "buzzing" noises like a bumble bee buzzing around. 😳
I just got a replacement phone today from Cingular. With the latest software or hardware upgrade, the flucatuating volume has been fixed. If you decide to turn on AFR to EFR on GSM speech however, your callers will still hear the "buzzing" noise. So, leave the AFR on.
