Palm Treo 700p

Just a word of caution if you decide to go with the HS850 headset. I picked one up last weekend for $40 at Costco. It paired with my 700p easily enough, and didn't sound too bad on my end. After some pretty heavy usage over the past 5 days I have had mixed feedback about the sound quality. Some people have said they can hear me very well, no problems. Others have complained so much I have removed the headset and continued the call on the phone itself. There does not seem to be any consistency to the quality of the call, nor to any interference. I have used this in my car while driving, from home, from my office, and various other locations. I now question whether each call will be a good one or bad. Also, the earpiece becomes increas...

Does the 700p or 755p have spell check or predictive text for either email or text messaging?

some one that gets this phone before this friday...could you please let me now if its able to play music tones...i'd appreciate it.

ok i have the Q and 6700, i like them both, i would like to try the palm and thinking about getting it alot of people seem to like it better heres my questions

1 what is the difference between thr palm and windows, is there still a window bar to put in www.xxxxxx.com in it like the windows version.
2 ringtones for contacts and voicemail and text messages, is that possible?? on my Q i can assign different ringers for contacts,texts,voicemail,ect....
3 can you put pictures on the palm going through the a active sync, i can put ringtones, video clips,and pictures going through the explorer on active sync
4 is there alot of free software out there like for the windows mobile base ones???

Hey everyone - is there any way to use songs I've loaded into Ptunes as ringers?

So if I want to cancel my last action, how, in general, do I do it? How do I backup one menu, etc?

On the 700p is there a way to make ringers from wav or mp3's stored on the phone? I have some recordings of some local bands I would like to use.

is this possible to do?

I just got a 700p. At my office we use Outlook 2003 and have our own on-site email server. It's a MS Exchange server. I have tried to set up email with assistance from VZW CS and Palm CS. The VZW people have been great, but have told me that the Palm CS personnel are more well versed in the nuances of Versamail. My problem with this is that the Palm CS dept rarely has anyone with decent communication skills. I have given them three chances and about ninety minutes of my time. They are about to cost VZW a sale, because I will be returning the Treo if I can't get my email to work.

Based on a conversation with VZW CS it does not sound like Wireless sync is a viable option because I need to keep certain emails in my In-box for very long...

any good freeware sites for 700P Verizon?

Okay so I do a lot of phone switching, and after trying the Treo 700wx for a good amount of time I can officially say its junk.

Sales people (me being a former one) please let customers know that a majority (a large majority) of programs will not work on the Treo 700wx. Reason being, look at an Ipaq or a PPC 6700, 6800. The first thing that will grab your eye is that larger screen. WELL GUESS WHAT! Most programs are written for that larger screen. Making the Treo 700w/wx useless. Or atleast hard to get software for.

But on to the bread and butter of this post:

I switched now to the Treo 700p and wow!!! The software support is phenomonal.

Ih have had 3 of these phones now, and for no reason at all it will shut off and reboot. There is not particular time or reason it does this. Has anyone else had this problem??

Anyone know where/if i can get one cheaper for $8.00 shipped?

I currently have a Treo 650 with Sprint and I love the phone as well as the service. I am thinking about maybe upgrading to the 700p. I would sell my 650 and probably end up spending about $200 to upgrade. What are the main differences and do you think it's worth me upgrading? Thanks for the help!

What about all this "freezing up" and "rebooting" I keep hearing about? Is it really that widespread?

Also, does the 700P support a 2G SD card?

I really want to get this device, but I'm very hesitant after reading so many of the reviews and looking over some of the problems mentioned in this forum...

I've been w/Sprint for about 6 years so far and love the service (Customer Service took a little hit when they merged w/Nextel...but still sounds allot better than some of the Verizon reviews I've read!). I've been using a Sanyo MM5600 for the last 2 years and LOVE IT. However, I'm starting to use my phone more for its calendar features and reminders than before and am intrigued by the thought of a Treo--or some other Smart Phone.

I've been looking over user reviews of the Treo 700p and I'm sort of at a loss: some people say it's the greatest phone ever and others say it's horrible. I know this is typical of user reviews, but I have some real concerns:

I'm considering Treo 700p vs Motorola Q.

I seem to really like the features that both offer. I'm beyond crying over WiFi (buy the mini-sd wifi card). I'm really wondering if there is anything that the other really lacks that should make a consideration difference.

- Nice weight, sexy and size difference

I have used Palm devices for years however, I'm willing dump the Palm Tungsten T3 to Motorola's Q (MSFT) if I'll gain something great and I'm not really going to be lose anything vital. I'm tired of having 2 devices RAZR + Palm T3 when I could have it "all-in-one."

I went in to the phone info on my 700P
it was myphone [email protected]

but if I email something direct to the phone, it comes back as undeliverable

Is there a way to set up an email address that goes directly to the phone or do I just have to use VersaMail and use one of my other accounts for email??

does the new software exist for the 700? something with a microsoft push... dont know much. has anyone upgraded?
