Sanyo SCP-8400
how do you like your 8400?
im just sitting here bored at work and wanted to see how everyone likes their 8400? if you could go back would you have selected something different or stayed with this? ive had mine for about 3 1/2 months and personally i love it.. its a great phone with some excellent features and i love the battery life(still wish i could find an extended battery). and the evdo is very quick and pretty decent in non-evdo coverage areas.. so all in all this is the best phone ive ever owned.. have had a samsung a500, a few nokias(cant remember the model numbers) motorola rokr a kyocera slider.. ok im done rambling.. time for work

I'm bored at work too 🙂 I've had the 8400 a few days now and I love it. The music has helped me pass the time at work here 😛 Lemme paint you a picture, I've had 10 phones on 3 different carriers in the past 3 years, 7 of which were on Sprint (left and came back). I have to say for my wants and needs, this is the best phone I've ever had.
Music plays pretty loud for a single speaker (I don't mind a single speaker at all). I am glad they have the extra memory slot for a miniSD, thats good stuff.
The 1.3mp cam goes great with the QVGA screen, I couldn't justify the purchase of a seperate digital camera cause I don't take pictures enough heh. And its nice to be able to take a short video of my friends for later exploitation 😈...

I use to be with Sprint but I got tired of them over charging me on my bill. I switched to TMobile. I do miss Sanyo phones...😢

I'm happy so far. Rumkin let me customize it pretty much to my satisfaction. I uploaded my own Mp3 ringtones and 240x320 "screen savers", and none of my stuff will expire in 90 days.
I agree with most of the positive comments, clear sound, good reception etc. so rather than repeat I'll add my nitpicks instead:
I wish there was another case for it, I got the "Body Glove" case but it covers the mouthpiece and slides off the bottom half, I also tore the clear vinyl button cover the other day constantly trying to adjust the position..
The Clear "snap face in" plastic belt mounting apparatus is less flexible than a standard orbital clip and "encourages" you to fling the phone on the ground trying to release it. I definitely use the incl...

I've had my 8400 for a month. Let me say that I don't care about playing music on it or taking pictures with it. Aside from its normal voice telephone features I care about several things:
1. Use as an EvDO modem. The 8400 is stellar on this front. Battery life is best of the EvDO phones at Sprint. This helps me a bunch.
2. Managing a large address book. The 8400 is a letdown on this. My Nokia 6165i (a 1xRTT phone) held about 480-490 contacts. And each one had two or three phone numbers. My 8400 is tapped out at about 360 contacts. It says it's full at "700". The specs on this phone talk about it being able to hold five phone numbers per contact, I think. So I don't have all my contacts in the phone. This is unfortunate, t...
