LG VX-8600 / AX-8600

😁 I want to get this phone but i dont know if the sound and the picture come out good. Im going to get it free on Feb. 4, 2007.

Purchased a 1 gb sd card and I loaded my lg vx-8600 phone with pictures and mp3's. Purchased a headphone adapter at Radio Shack so I can use standard wired stereo headphones. I only hear music from one of the earpieces. The guy at Radio Shack says the output is not in stereo that's why music only comes from 1 side. Is that possible? If not, then maybe someone can tell me if I have to change a setting. If yes, then how can this phone be marketed as a music player when it's not stereo.

Just got the 8600 and I love it, though I'm pretty ignorant with tech stuff.
I saw a review on this site that said you can set your own interface with this phone. I think this means the phone OS? Does anybody know what exactly this means and how it is done? Appreciate it.

Does anyone else have an issue with the low battery alert? I can be on the phone and without any warning, the phone will power down due to a low charge. I have not heard a beep or seen the battery indicator flash like on other phones. Please let me know.

My title says it all.. can i stop the phone for searching for ev(v-cast) to save batt life?thanks all....

To make your battery last much longer, simply buy a new (replacement) battery and charge it fully before using it in the phone for the first time. VZW will not sell you a phone without activating it, so you will have to buy an extra battery, but it is well worth it.

I just purchased this phone tonight and downloaded two songs off Vcast since the service is free for 30 days. I realized after the fact that I wasn't sure how to transfer these files into ringtones. There doesn't appear to be a way to set these songs up as ringers, am I missing something or do I have to go back and rebuy these under the ringtones app section? Thanks!

While navigating through screens I can never figure out how to go back to the last screen without hitting end or even flipping the phone shut. Sometimes in Get it Now I can go to the home page, but thats a pain. Even browsing through ringtones and pictures is a pain because I always have to go to the main menu and start over instead of going back to the last screen. Is there a shortcut similair to a "back" button? Thanks

Please work w/me b/c this is my first time using bitpim or ANYTHING w/cell phone. How do i get the audio conversion dialog box to come up on bitpim to change my music? Help keeps telling me it should be popping up automatically but its not. Am I doing something wrong? I'm using my music from windows media player.

I was able to send myself one ringer when I picked up my 8600, since then - I've tried yahoo, gmail and comcast - I keep getting the 550 error 👿 .

So I got the phone yesterday...

One thing I've seen mentioned before which I am experiencing is a creaky hinge. It's noticable when opening the phone from a standard distance. Kind of annoying.

The other thing is when I'm on the main screen and hit, let's say "clr", the display brightens, and right when it goes dim, there is a crackle/pop that comes from the speaker. It's not terribly loud, but again, definitely annoying.

The other wierd thing is that when I got the phone, there was a "draft" in my messages folder!! It said "Hi whats up how are yout", exactly written like that. Do you guys think this might have been a returned/remanufactured phone?? I noticed all these issues in the first 5 minutes of use, so it makes me kind of...

I havent seen a thread on this but is it possible to set your music from your SD card to your ring tone, or do they make you buy the verizon tones. I just got the phone yesterday, also how the hell do you turn on speakerphone? I want to see if it is as bad as everyone says it is.

Okay, just got my 8600 which i got expressly for the purpose of downloading/listening my mp3s. So what is my best for getting music onto the phone?
A USB cable for the phone and bitpim? Some sort of bluetooth device (which one)? A micro SD card reader for my PC? Something else?

I'm looking for the cheapest setup but I would be willing to pay more if file transfer speeds of one method is significantly faster.

On a different topic. How much SD RAM would you guys suggest? I was leaning towards a 1GB card. Too little or too much?

I've tried everything, but can't seem to find an easy way to see the clock during a call. SOmetimes I'd like to know what time it is...but can't figure it out. Anybody know, or have similar question???

I had to get a replacement phone, and when i was using my mp3 on my old phone the artist info (album title, year and the album cover)would show up. Since i got my replacement 🤤 phone none of that shows up and when i go to Albums it only shows two when i have almost 10 albums on it. Please help me

How long does the battery last if you are only listening to MP3's? Is it about the same as talk time or somewhere between talk and standby time? I'd like to be able to use it in place of an iPod.

my friends say you can just do it for free if u get a usb cord and just transfer themfrom computer to phone. Is that true? Where does the usb cord go into on the phone and what do u do after that? 😢
