Sanyo PRO-700
Average Ratings

Great phone
Great phone. Terrific signal and sound quality. Sanyo and Sprint has done it again with a great phone. I like that fact that the ringer is very loud and also the sound on the ear piece is loud enough. Sprint and Sanyo has always done good. But the only con with this phone is I wish it had a camera.

Compromises to lackluster
Pros are this phone is a Sanyo and rev a. It's fast, tipped 2400kbp/s because of rev a, but there are compromises that they did to make this an ok average phone.
Ok the negs, where to start? No memory card and only 32mb internal, what?! The 320 qvga screen IS the smallest out, hope ya have good 20/10 vision... The base backrounds are based on a black and white motif. BTW the external screen, yup, black and white, geez. Did you wanna take pictures, of course not! No camera. Also does not support a couple of the bluetooth protocols, but hey - the ones that are supposed to work, have a 'hardware issue'.
This just as well goes for the not ruggedized brother the 200. Just put a cheap case around it, the wet protection on the 700 probally won't stop the 'your moisture indicators on your phone say that your phone is NOT covered' reply the tech at the store is first looking for.
So who's it good for? Someone who wants to dongle/ dun to a rev a phone cheaply and doesn't care about the rest. It helps to be color blind too.
There are alt phones to these two, the Katana DLX (or eclipse for cheaper, no qvga) or if ya like moto you prolly already have a renegade 750.

beware your carrier
It all started like a nice dream. A camera free phone with internet & walkie talkie...
I held my breath when it tumble dn un-carpeted stairs on to an unfinished concrete floor in the basement.
IT WAS AS TOUGH AS IT LOOKS. WOW!!!
Along w/ a ringer that could wake the dead and a speaker so loud it's downright rude to use in public -- WHO COULD ASK FOR MORE???
Then. I dared cut the grass on a hot day and took a call. The call lasted a few seconds and quit.
Later that day I was surprised to hear it ring - and had not recharged it. WOW, it came back to life and as it turns out, the battery had plenty of charge.
ONLY ONE PROBLEM: NUMBERS 1,4,5 AND 6 WERE FOREVER FRIED. SO, OFF TO THE SPRINT STORE.
COME TO FIND OUT, MILITARY SPECS DON'T INCLUDE A FEW BEADS OF SWEAT. A NEW PHONE COSTS OVER $300. SPRINT PROMISES TO REPLACE IT FOR ONLY $50, ON A ONE TIME BASIS, AS I HAD NO INSURANCE.A MONTH & STILL NO PHONE.
MEANTIME,MY 2ND LINE, ALSO W/ A PRO 700, USED A WHOPPING 100 MINUTES/MO BY 86 YEAR OLD GREAT GRANDMOTHER, HAS THE VOLUME COVERS FALL OFF. STILL WORKS BUT A FAILURE WAITING TO HAPPEN. SPRINT IGNORES THIS COMPLETELY
DID I MENTION -- MY SPRINT INTERNET WIRELESS CARD HAS COST WELL OVER $1000 IN THE PAST 90 DAYS? $200 CANCELLATION FEE VS. $900 PER YR.SPRINT CHOSE THE $200. NOT TOO BRIGHT.
TURNS OUT,5MBGIGAMEGKILAWACHIMACALLTS, THAT ARE GOOD FOR 4000 EMAIL PER MONTH, LAST ONLY ABOUT 2 HOURS OF WATCHING NCIS EPISODES AND ABOUT 10 EMAILS PER MONTH. THEIR IDEA OF A PAYMENT PLAN IS AN EXTRA 30 DAYS, AND DUE ON THE 25TH -- A WEEK BEFROE PAYDAY.
NO EXCEPTIONS.
THE MORAL OF THIS STORY: DON'T BLAME THE PHONE,ONE BAD APPLE DONT SPOIL THE WHOLE BUNCH-SO THE SAYING GOES.IN A MASS PRODUCED ITEM THERE IS BOUND TO BE FLAWS.
THE PROBLEM IS THE @!#*#S WHO RISK A $3K/YR ACCT OVER A FEW HUNDRED. SADLY,VERIZON'S NO BETTER & THESE ARE THE BEST CHOICES WE HAVE.
STILL NO PHONE...GOOD THING GRANDMA SHARES.
