LG stands for "Like Garbage"
I recently snatched up 3 of these phones on a family plan for 3 people in 3 different areas. All 3 were a major dissapointment!!
First, the most important feature of a cell phone is to make and carry on phone conversations. With this phone, 9 out of 10 calls were dropped and when you were actually talking with someone it would get garbled and muffled.
I know that people judge phones by many other stats but I think that the ability to make calls should be #1. This phone just cannot hold a signal for any extended period of time. In places where it got no signal, my Nokia 3120 was at full strength.
There are many other "cosmetic" options with this phone such as ring tones and walpaper etc... but that is not what is most important on a cell phone.
LG phones are strictly for teeny-boppers who want to be cool with a phone of thier own. They are cheap and are not worth any amount of money. This is why they are usually the ones being given away!
Stay with the big 3 in cell phones;
1) Nokia
2) Motorola
3) Samsung
Even the cheapest of these 3 are better than anything LG has to offer!
I am taking these 3 back to the store tonight and replacing them with Motorolas!!
BEWARE

Repeat after me: "CRAP"
This phone is a peice of crap. In the middle of many, if not all calls, it looses all signal strength and/or severly breaks up. I had this phone exchanged and had new antennas put on, and it did nothing.
The only plus side to this phone is that its compact, good battery life, and full adio ringtones. But don't buy a phone just because its compact. THIS PHONE IS HORRIBLE.

Horrible Phone
This is a horrible phone. The basic function of a phone is to send and receive calls, and my phone cannot even perform that single function. I am on Cingular's GSM network, and I have been having horrible reception and problems with dropped calls where I am in Massachusetts. My parents have the same Cingular GSM plan, but a good Motorola phone, and they get excellent reception where I am.
I don't think asking for a phone that can make and receive calls is too much.

It's ok...
I have had good luck with the phone in Florida...for the most part. The phone did switch into SOS Only mode and would not return to normal. I called AT&T and went into the store. The store basically told me call the warranty dept and pay $15 to have a refurbished phone shipped to me.
It turns out a tech support gal knew the problem. Some of the LG 4015 phones have a problem resetting the SIM card once it's entered SOS Only mode. I took my card out and put it in a friends phone, then made a call. My friends phone reset the SOS Only mode. Once I put the SIM card back into the LG 4015, it worked fine. AT&T/Cingular will offer to send out a new SIM, but I don't think it's a SIM problem.
I also learned you can enter a diagnostic mode on the phone. It's 2945#*# for my phone. You can do things like check the hardware and software versions of the phone. You can also run a series of diagnostic tests on the phone.
Reception has been good, service, etc. Then again, FL is flat and flooded with towers. If I had to do it again, I'd get a different phone.

For a free phone...you cant get any better!
I got this phone when i singed with cingular in Iowa. I love it, when i bought it originally i thought i was going to trade in on a Motorola V551, all i can say is that i fell in love with this phone. Its was to use is a breath of fresh air. Also i like how user friendly it is to use.
PROS:
-Ease to use
-Sound quality
-Excellent menu configuration
-"Fun" ring tones
-Strong vibration mode
CONS:
-Volume button locations
-a little too quiet in the ring tone
-a lack of good games (not that that should ever be a deciding factor of a phone)

LG4015
This phone really sucks. Everytime I have tried to use it the damn thing goes into SOS mode. I called my provider 4 times already (I have only had the phone 3 days) and am about ready to pack the phne up in a box and tell the manufacturer to take it and shove it where the sun don't shine. Definitely a piece of junk. GRRRRRRR!

My LG C1300
This has been the worst wireless phone I've ever used. I constantly experience dropped calls. I have often been unable to make calls even though my signal strength is strong. Invariably, when I try to call Cingular about it I find that dialing 611 takes me to another wireless provider - usually Verizon or T-Mobile.
Cingular has done everything short of replacing the phone and it is still horrible. It's too bad because I've had a pretty good experience with them otherwise.

So far so good...
So far the clarity on the GSM network here in Dallas on this phone seems to be much better than the Samsung X426 I had before, which was horrible. I don't seem to fade in and out on this phone.
The only gripe I have is trying to figure out how to put in multiple numbers per contact listing. For example, for the life of me I can't tell how to differentiate per contact whether the number is cell, home, work, etc.
Thanks -

LG 4015 Stinks
I hated this phone. here are my pro's and cons:
Pros:
-nice display
-loud ringer
-easy to operate
-many options
Cons:
-bad reception (never had problem w/ ATT until this phone)
-sometimes turns off automatically
-sometimes doesn't charge
-cannot access more than one number for a contact. you have to change the main number first

Small but Sophisticated
Remember, cell phones work off of radio waves. All GSM phones have about the same reception because they all work on the same system. Take into consideration your surroundings and the weather and the brand reliability of your phone.I love my little LG c1300.It has a sophisticated look, small enough to carry, but small enough to lose. It's ashame how people look for how much a phone can do for them, when it's only purpose is to place and receive call's.
