Ok. I am getting ready to do my upgrade on my phone and need some help/suggestions.

What I am looking for is a phone of course.. but I need my Wife to be able to go online and run credit cards through her merchant account's website, email is a must but just sending and receiving with attachments is fine, IM is cool but not a super important feature, I would like GPS navigation, a basic scheduler/alarm, basic contacts storage for business & personal, etc.

The phones I am looking at are the following:

1. Instinct
2. Blackberry Curve 8330
3. HTC Touch
4. Plam Centro

What would your suggestions be? Any other phones in the same price range?

Also, I hear there is an extra charge for the Blackberrys, is this true?

The plan we a...

I have experience with the Treo 755 for running credit cards, there is an extra 3rd party service for this that will not be included in the plan. GPS is also an external adapter that runs through bluetooth or SDIO. As a few weeks ago I was aware that GPS was an additional charge with Palm phones, I don't know if they have gotten that fixed yet. All the other features you've mentioned are included in the phone it'self unless you want to edit Word/Excel docs, which is a $50 program you can download to your phone. The phone's promotional price is $199.99 after MIR.

If you went with the Treo 800w, you would not need an external GPS, or program for editing docs because it is a Windows Mobile phone. But I have not seen if they have the adapter ...

Thanks. But, I do not need anything but Web Access to run credit cards. Her Merchant Account offers a web interface form to run them as you would with a "phone" order. That will work fine.

I have pretty much got it narrowed down to either an Instinct or BB 8330. I am leaning more towards the 8330 simply because the functionality seems to be better, but the Instinct would most likely be more "fun", but I am not really looking for "fun".

I did check out the Treos but they are a bit more then I am willing to spend on a phone.

I think the Curve would do you better, I personally think that its easier to use, and it doesn't lag like the instinct.

I HAVE RECOMMENDED THAT THIS PHONE BE DISCARDED AND THAT NOONE I KNOW BUYS 1 OF THESE.!!!I HAVE POSTED THIS IN AS MANY FORUMS AS I COULD FIND ON THIS PHONE.
ALL IN ALL THIS IS A JUNK PHONE!!The sprint music and sprint tv doesn’t work(sprint blames lg for this),cant send picture mail or text with pictures attached,Everytime I try to go to my content manager I get something about the phone needs a handler, tell it to get the handler and the phone shuts down and restarts then tells you it needs the handler again.
I have called Lg and asked what format the ringtones were supposed to be in for them to work on my daughters rumor phone and they told me they didnt know that they just make the phones and sprint sends them the software to load ...
