Open Debate: Verizon Not #1? Phones? Answers here
1) There are different "categories" as far as what #1 defines. For example, #1 in Customer Satisfaction, #1 Customer base, #1 Network, etc. It's true that with the recent AT&T/Cingular merge that they do (and probably will maintain for a while) the #1 customers. But, it took a MERGER just to do that. They would no way have gotten more customers than Verizon any other way.
2) #1 customer amount does not determine #1 network, which Verizon will maintain for quite some time. If I'm not mistaken I can recall news stories from unhappy customers stating that with the merger that the all ready "horrible" service got worse. Cingular/ATT does not have a stro...

For the guy (or lady) that said that Verizon won't be #1 you need to take in the facts.

verizon's EV-do service isnt that fast, and plus cingular/att wireless will have umts/hsdpa/wcdma which will be faster then DO especially REV O that verizon is launching.
it will be a very competitive marketplace and i think it shall be interesting of what comes out.
And I forgot about T-Mobile's european company but that's a good point. I can see T-Mobile over the long run slowly climbing but I don't think that Cingular will ever take it because I think they dug themselves a hole with the merger.
Verizon nothing released anything on their Broadband before it was released. They waited for REALISTIC numbers. Right now, Cingular and another companies stating numbers is just a ploy to try to grab attention away from Verizon. They are desperate. Businesses do it all the time. But, like i said, until we see it you shouldn't believe anything you read.
The razr was suppose to have been the "wave of the future" but that phone was just garbage and plagued by a million problems. it's all hype
i just said. hsdpa is faster then DO REV O . everyone was saying that REV O was supposed to be very fast, on paper, however verizon is only advertising it to be from 400-600kb/s as well as other sources. (DO rev O is supposed to be up to 1.5mb/s and its not. so thats hype too and "theoretical".) (http://informationweek.networkingpipeline.co m/news/56900280)" The call used High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) technology that, proponents claim, will offer theoreti...

"Fifty million customers, which is over three million more than we had as of October 1 of last year, means that nearly three of every 10 current U.S. wireless subscribers are now Cingular customers."

oh get over it. they are and you know it.
"Their 50 million figure is something they just attained and announced instantly, so that everyone would know. "
so do you announce somethings thats true, or something that isnt? come on now.
"Verizon's 43.8 million figure is as of the end of last quarter, 2 1/2 months ago (December 31).
The real gap is more like 4-5 million, since VZW will have 45-46 million customers by the end of this quarter."
no they have 43.8 Million.(http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/a boutUs/index.jsp?cm_re=Home%20Page*Top%20Nav* About%20Us...
