Moved to WV and no Verizon Service...
I just moved out from NJ to Morgantown, West Virginia to finish off my college experience at WVU and i was wondering if it would be possible for me to swich from Verizon (which has no coverage) to Sprint who does have coverage in the area and not be charged for the early termination fee.

according to what I have heard and read, YES. You will have to call verizon and talk to them, and from what I have heard, you will have to provide them with proof of the move by sending an utility bill in that address, or something of the sort, then they will shut your service off with no ETF since they can not offer you service. You dont even get the extended network there???

there is barely any extended network service but i am on it all the time...A faint signal i tend to get where i get 2 bars but then most times it endes up cutting off during my call...

They should let you out of contract with no CTF. My grandma just did it a week ago, same situation. 😁

Just out of curiousity hit *611 send from your phone and see who's customer care it rings into. I am betting it is probably sprint, thus switching isn't going to help you a ton since you are probably using their network now.

I don't understand this. I am a graduate of WVU and I had Verizon service all through my time there. I did not have a problem at all.

I looked into this a little further. You would have to have a Tri-Mode phone in order to get signal in Morgantown. Morgantown, WV is in the extended analog area of VZW's network. I had a tri-mode phone when I was there, so that must have been why I had service.
If you have an all digital phone, you are screwed. But you may want to attempt to call customer care....they may let you upgrade to a tri-mode without charging you full retail, since you need it in order to maintain your account with them. I am not sure of this, however, because I never had to go through it with them.
