15 day try out limit of 3 phones

I hate verizon customer service/policies.
they renegged on free up after 2 years of reps
telling me I was elible june 2005.
Upgraded samsung 530a
LG 8000
Motorola e815
today I wanted to return the Motorola.
want bluetooth, speakerphone. whats left
$600.00 I730, however, verizon store rep
informed me that my next 15 day try out period is my last. I passed my limit of phones. I would not be able to return any more phones.
I called 611 and they confirmed the rep's statement. Their online policy does not reflect any limits.
I wrote a letter of dissatisfation, stating that I would rather be cell free than hands free. a universal network would leave them where?

Mr. Verizon
if they had enough quality phones to choose from
I would indeed kept one. My 530a is in use today.
going on 2 years with that phone. I feel as if I have been abused and unassisted by them.

AMEN TO THAT!!! 😁
Our policy as I know it is only ONE exchange within your 15 days! If we let every customer just swap phones because of some stupid request everytime that they had beef with a phone within their trial, it would be lost revenue! Everytime a phone is returned, we CANNOT resell it and must send it back to the manufacturer.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! So many customers think they can walk in and act as if we are a library - checking out phones whenver they want and then returning them just because they decided they didn't like them. If they'd just do their research, pick a phone and stick with it, it would make things so much easier.

Not only that, but it would keep costs for VZW down, in turn making things cheaper for customers...in other words, by buying a phone and sticking with it, customers are helping themselves!

I have no problem with customers returning phones b/c they are defective. Actually, I highly encourage it! If a customer pays for the phone and pays a bill every month, it's ony right ot get a phone that works properly.

But p...

This is one of those circumstances where it's like you could either be fine or walking on egg shells depending on the customer you are working with.

You have to admit, not too many people return 3 phones to the store...The 15 day trial period isn't the 24 hour GM test drive guarantee, but none the less it is there to make sure everything works and you are satisfied.

However, let's say a customer comes in to do an exchance within the 15 day period, and the rep tells them ok we have a 3 exchange limit, or if they don't and let the customer go on their way...

How is that customer going to react? One customer could get upset that they are being either stereotyped, or "Red flagged", or just straight up being talked down to. Where as the...

Okay. It's people like you that most likely also complain that the phones are too expensive! It's people like you that drive prices up because returning a phone two, three, four, five+ times makes each phone more expensive! There's enough phones to choose from that you shouldn't have to try out so many, unless you have multiple personalities and none of them like the same freakin' things! Man, and I am not even a fan of Verizon!

Wow. In our department (over the phone), we only allow a one time exchange. I wish we could send out 3 phones for the customer. Less confrontation, for sure!

Less confrontation, but a much larger expense.

Pick a phone, if you don't like it you get a different one. That's your new phone.

I agree. The many real issues (not simply preferences) on both phones that have discussed on the forums are what has been an concern for me.

Being able to try out 3 phones in the 15 day period is more than generous actually.

If you have to try out more phones than that, then youre either not communicating your needs well to your rep and/or you havent done any research or put much thought into what you want.

Hey, youre on phonescoop.com for heavens sake. Theres a lot of good info here- USE it. 😳

Actually it is specified online at www.verizonwireless.com very specifically that the 15 day exchange policy is valid for only 1 exchange.

Support -> FAQs -> Worry Free Guarantee -> #7 return policy (there's a link) -> Exchanges.

Within 15 days of purchase, you may exchange one wireless phone per new line of service. In order to make the exchange, you must return the original box, intact with all components (phone, charger, battery, instructions, etc.), in like-new condition. All exchanges must be accompanied with the original customer receipt and will only be granted to the purchaser whose name appears on the receipt.

I think it is dependant upon asking before purchasing, and the rep you are speaking to.
Spoke to 611 phone rep about samsung i730, and
he told me I have 15 days with the phone. I explaned my history and he said it did not matter.
However, I would not buy again until a phone suits
my needs. They have been generous, and are expecting new phones soon. If not, I'll purchase above phone and customize it with apps.

sorry second post. I reread their policy and I returned not exchanged phones. The policy states accordingly. One exchange in 15 days. No limit is mentioned for a return.

OK darling I didnt return or exchange the same
phone, but, no arguments from me. I purchased my final phone today the samsung i730. The poor rep worked for hours getting upset with other reps to congifure the activation. I felt truly sorry for him. I was there for 4 hours,
and it turned comical, as we all laughed.
