Text Messaging and Browser questions

I've looked at a few of the Verizon LG phones and noticed a few things:

1. If text messages that arrive with URL links in them, you cannot go to the link, cannot copy the link, etc. There is no way to follow that link and go to it in the mobile web browser.

2. In the browser on the LG phones, you cannot enter a URL to go to. You can only go to the links that they provide.

I have noticed that you can go to your Verizon online account page on the desktop and add a favorite...and the phone will go to that link, but there seems to be no easy way to do that right from the browser of messaging app.

Can anyone verify that I am correct in this observation?

Is this also the case with Motorola or Samsung phones?

Thanks in advance...

You are correct. These phones don't have an actual web browser to view the web on. Mobile web isn't a web browser or the internet. You can only to to the topics provided. That's it...

Unfortunately you are incorrect. You can type in any URL and the phone will at least try to load the page.

Go to the Search tab and then option 3 "Go To URL"
and you can input anything you want

Thanks for the replies. Which specific phone models are you guys using? And what about the question of whether you can go to a url in a text message?

Thanks again.

I have an LG 7000, 8000, and 8100.

URL from a text message isn't going to work that I've seen.
