Another Newb Question:

I have an LG Dare with 500 TXT/PIX (and Unlimited In) and the VCast Data Pack. If I use Mobile IM do I get charged for anything? I thought I heard somewhere that I'd get charged one text (out of my 500 non-In texts), but all Verizon's site says is:

With Version 2.0.1 of the client login and contact list refresh uses Minutes of Use (unless you have a VPAK data plan, in which case KBU usage applies) otherwise standard text messaging rates apply.

Might sound like a dope here - but I bot a bluetooth adapter for my computer, where can I get software to synch with my env2?

Tried BitPim and it doesn't have this model and tells me provider locked this feature.

Seems like other people have had the ability to send music/ringers etc via this method.

I have the old music essential kit if it helps.

Just like the Glyde, the Dare will be forgotten very soon. The bottom line is that this phone is nothing more then a Voyager with no physical keyboard. Say what you will about the browser, it still sucks big time and is as slow if not slower then the Voyager. Many of you get so hyped about this stuff, you lose all sense of reality when posting reviews to quickly. Many will post a positive review solely for the purpose to justify their purchase and to fish for more positive reviews. The Dare is cute but it's nothing to write home about.

I am anxious to see what phone will get all of the hype next.

Okay lets say in situation A - you have two lines already with att. But you have ton of rollover minutes. You could simply add a line for 9.99 and over all, you do not have to increase the plan by 20.00 more so that the new users could use more minutes.

Situation B - You have two linse with vzw..same rate plan but since you don't have rollover you now do have to increase to the next plan by $20.00 more to gain more minutes.

So $199.99 for the new 3g iphone.. Come on down folks be part of the next best thing..

Just wondering if the Dare is capable of VCast Song ID. Also, when you use Song ID, if you have a VCast Data Pack, does it cost anything extra? Like $0.99 per ID or something like that?

At midnight the morning of Sunday June 29th there was a Verizon Wireless outage in the Greater San Fransico Bay Area. I live in San Jose and my phone was down for 25 minutes. My friend lives in another part of San Jose but was in SF for the night and when I would call him it came back as All Circuits are busy. I hope this is fixed now it was absolutly the craziest thing I have seen.

Just thought id's note it incase anyone else saw an issue.

Just came back from bus trip in Nashville. A coworker had no less than 3 dropped calls per day on his Verizon phone. Had to find windows to make calls.

Needless to say I thought about the reliable coverage everywhere and had to laugh.....

You I'm used to dropping calls now and then using GSM. Its a given. But he is not and needless to say he is porting out for a GSM carrier because he loved my phone and (in Nashville anyway)I was making calls from deep inside the convention center while he stood outside doing the same...

Many people don't even KNOW there is a viable alternative to Verizon phones and service.

Is Nashville a typically bad area for Verizon? I know for a fact Atlantic City NJ is not so great.

i checked the Verizon website and checked the map for V-cast to watch tv,radio, internet on the phone and found no coverage in NC... is this true and if not , what cities have good signal when it comes to V-cast? 🤨

My fiancee and I are trying to figure out our phone situation - I am replacing my Q with a Pearl likely - and we just discussed maybe getting her one as well - data plans are per phone correct? If we're on a family share plan, there is no way to share data plans right? or discount for having more than one data plan?

If not - she'll likely use her existing phone.

Hey all, hoping someone can help out. I have a u740. I have some MIDI files that I would like to get into the phone as ringtones. I cant seem to get them onto the phone by either micro sd card or my email from my computer. The phone isnt reading any of the files on the card and when sending thru email the phone is auto deleting the attachment.

So I'm eligible to upgrade my phone now, and my contract expires in July. I'm in a family plan and definitely want to stick with Verizon. Is there anything I can do to get a better phone...? Should I upgrade now or wait and use my contract ending as a bargaining chip...? I'm already a VIP member, which should give me $75 off a new phone.
Any suggestions?

fyi, Verizon started a main steam policy recently that used to be special occasion only. If any line is on a $50 or more per month access for that line, you can do a 2 year renewal on that line and get any phone at the sales price. There can not have been a Contract renewal/phone upgrade in the last 12 months, and you have to be on that price point for the last 3 months. So if your a 9.99 share line, oh well, but you can also use another lines upgrade thats on the account.


Can anyone please help me out with this? I am really wanting the dare and wanting to ditch my pearl. How would I go about doing this? Do I have to call CS?

I got the Voyager on June 5th. The Dare is the same price as the Voyager. I'm not on the Internet and this is my only phone. Do you think there will b a difference in call quality between the phones? I was going to return the Voyager for the Dare. I have until 7/5, what should I do?
