A customer has just purchased a game with unlimited use for his handset. A month later he decides to upgrade to another handset. Is the purchase of that game transferrable to the new handset? I am sure ringtones are not...but would games be?

Sometimes you can get a courtesy credit on your bill for the purchase of get it now applications, when you upgrade your handset.

OK, thanks. I contacted care and was told they couldn't. They said the only circumstance they could do this is if the handset is defective.

or just call customer care back and tell them their old phone crapped out so they had to upgrade and get a new one and they will do it. I have had customers upgrade and their old phones were on the last breath so they just redownloaded them, waited until they showed up on the bill then called customer care and told them they had to get a new phone, and that should be fine. I think the rule goes if a customer has to get a new phone they will credit them but if they choose to get a new phone they will not.

The only time customer service credits back GIN apps is when the phone was a warranty replacement, and that is only anything downloaded w/in the past 90 days. If a customer chooses to upgrade again or was damaged and did an insurance replacement they can redownload but will be charged for it again. You choose to download, therefore if it is not a warranty replacement(we can tell so you cannot trick us🙂 you will have to pay to redownload. These are optional purchases. Also, if you had subscription games and you did not remove them from the phone's system, you will still be charged for them.
