Master Reset as a phone option will. you will lose all data on your phone. try a hard reset instead. pull thebattery out of the phone and put it back in. lag might be logical. check to see if there's a frimware update for the handset. it'll only take about 1/2 hr-45 mins for a drop-off. Depending on the phone, echo might just be the nature of the beast. I've noticed a lot of speakerphones don't sound all that good.

Try turning down the volume. A master reset just deletes everything on the phone. This won't solve your problem.
