How good is the internal antenna compared to a external atenna in signal capturing, seen a customer complaining about how he had the samsung a950 being an internal antenna phone that when he holds the phone by the side, by rubbing or laying his index finger the side part the internal antenna his calls gets static and eventually drops the call.....I like external antenna....yes?
The Internal Antennas that Samsung uses are horrible. The RAZR gets GREAT signal and the LG 9800 is very good as well. It all depends on the quality of the antenna and implementation thereof. If its implementation is done well, you shouldn't notice a difference at all.

I personally have the Samsung a950 and have better reception that most of my friends who have the 8100. Biggest thing is...DON'T cover ANY part of the top of the phone where the antenna is. I have had less dropped calls with this phone than any other phone. If you think you have a problem with the antenna...take it to tech service at VZW and get it serviced.
That is why I say the internal antennas used on Samsungs are horrible....you can't even come close to touching them or you will lose signal. On the RAZR or the 9800, you can completely cover where the antenna is and still not adversely affect your signal.
