friend has AT&T services, wrote this to me..do any reps have any advice for her? I work for suncom, so I can't reall help her out..
It's that they are doubling the minutes used on EVERY CALL I MAKE because they seem to think I am calling two people at once. So where I was on the phone for maybe an hour on one occasion, that hour is listed twice, and I am recorded as having used 120 minutes instead of 60. Not a problem...till all the sudden I am allegedly over my alloted minutes and all my calls are being charged - twice - at 45 cents a minute.
thanks..

Wow, I have never heard of that, I would first start by tring to do a master clear on the phone. I dont think it can be an issue with an account, but rather the equipment.

Call customer care and ask them to look at the bill I've never ever heard or seen that. They can review the bill and if their is a billing issue they can get a ticket filed. Hard to say what is going on without seeing the bill. But please don't call yelling and screaming demanding a credit demanding a sup (they can't help you anyway reps are way more useful in every situation as they can get things done and know what to look for) call up just ask nice and we are always more then happy to look into things. Things sometimes happen rarely but sometimes and we are more then happy to correct company errors.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps this person was on a "home" plan and out of the area? But that still doesn't sound right because that would be roaming charges.. not double minutes. You've got me stumped.

Had something similar happen once in our store. We fixed the problem by removing 3-way calling as an option on the account and then re-provisioning it before.
Seemed to be a weird fluke in the 3-way system that made the computers think that every call was a 3-way with the two phone numbers (like THAT is even possible!). Can't guaruntee that is the problem, but sounds very similar to ours.

Another thing to be mindful of is HOW many times you are pressing the send key, pressing it twice might send 2 calls, no?

Responses I HAVE GIVEN before:
"Now, you are SURE, Mr. Mahatma, that it was not you that made these calls to India?"
"You're asking me WHY Colombia is blocked as an international dialing country?"
"Ma'am, as a company, we pay MORE for these phones than we charge YOU as a customer at the price that would not require a contract, you want a discount, you get a year, you want MORE off, you give us 2... Look at me as an employee, I pay COST, more than I am poised to charge you and that is MY only option"
"Now I need you to tell me what reason we would have, as a company, to arbitrarily place international roaming charges from KENYA on your bill sir?"
