migrating locality issues

Yesterday I tried to migrate to cingular from at& but was shot down 3 times: once from a cingular store, once from best buy, and once from a phone rep. The supposed problem is that i have a 216 (cleveland) number and i live in 214 (dallas) area code. For me though, living someplace is relative since i am on the road for most the year and its just someplace to throw some stuff, which is why my billing address is still in cleveland, because the location of that is arbitrary as well. The cingular rep on the phone told me that if i migrated over, the package (i’m assuming my phone), would be sent to cleveland and not dallas; even if i changed my billing address to dallas, cingular wouldnt be able to process a billing address outside of an area...

North Carolina ATTWS Customers (now SunCom)

Does anyone know what happens if the customer is still in AWE billing and they move outside of the SUNCOM area? Can they become a Cingulare customer? Who is taking their Calls?

Did you lose $20.00 on the floor today?

I work in Halifax care and if you lost $20.00 on the cafeteria floor today,I would just like to say that I found it,made a HUGE effort to not find you,then bought my lunch with it and a few snacks through work. Therefore,I would like to thank you for your non aware generousity and stupidty.Serves you right,it was right next to the bank machine,the one place that even stupid people watch their money.Thanx again!!! 😁

Doing phone information on Phonescoop

HELLO? Isn't this a forum used for discussing wireless phone information? What are people doing going on about spelling and everything? Even though I agree that some people should learn to spell correctly and those that speak Getto should go back to school.

I also find that this information is quite entertaining and... you know what... screw it, continue on, this is too funny and I can't stop laughing.

Seriously Getto woman, learn to spell, turn caps lock off, and speak proper engrish, your engrish con'foo'ses me, hehehe.

NOTE: English spelt wrong on purpose for those that don't understand me 'trying' to be funny.

new phone

hello,

I am looking for a new phone for my AT&T/ Cingular account.

The most important criteria for the new phone is that it can recieve pictures from other phones, that it has a high resolution screen (probably 65k TFT screen?), and that it does NOT have a camera. I was also hoping that the new phone might have the ability to store photos in a password protected folder.

I know i can search for phones using this site, but i didnt know how to set it up for this criteria and i also wanted some peoples opinions.

Insisting on spreading the discontentment

I just took an escalation from someone who was complaining about being on the phone for a half hour providing ID numbers from his phone and troubleshooting. When the floor rep explained his options, he demanded a supervisor. He got res.

He asked me to explain WHY he had been on the phone for a half hour reading off numbers and answering questions so that he could be told that he needed to contact Motorola or pay a fee. I explained that as his service provider, we are offering an expedited service. But in order to find out if he qualifies, we have to identify his phone, find out what's wrong and figure out exactly WHAT options we CAN offer.

He then said the word "retards", then hung up.

East Indian Call center reps need TRAINING BADLY!!!

I called Live Rep Activation line so customer could re-activate his Cingular phone, rep there told me she was transfering me over to the correct department, guess what, wrong department and another East Indian rep.

Next rep tells me they can transfer me to the correct department, gets me to the wrong dept.

Next rep there stated he will transfer me to the correct department, once again wrong department and it's another digital care rep.

I hung up and called and got a rep who could help. RAWR!!!

Orange XBM!!

Our center is getting Orange XBM! Similar to Blue WEX, but a bit different. Our reps start training first thing Monday. Wow. 😁

Look what the "successful" managers from AT&T are doing to SunCom

Cingular bought AT&T. SunCom and Cingular worked out a "swap" so that Cingular got VA and SunCom got the NC/SC AT&T markets.

SunCom thought it would be a good idea if they hired some of the AT&T management.

Now lets look at that logic.

You have a very successful company whose stock is flying high. You have just consolidated your market. You are poised to launch the most competitive plans available.

What is your next move???? You hire the people who screwed up AT&T.

Some of the "little gems" that they have come up with are straight from their days at AT&T.

1. Every retail location MUST have all employees come in every Thursday morning at 8AM for a store meeting.

Cust: "BUT I HAVE INSURANCE ON MY ACCOUNT! I'VE ALWAYS HAD INSURANCE ON MY ACCOUNT! YOU HAVE TO SEND ME A NEW PHONE!"

Me: "I'm sorry Ms Customer. Looking at your GSM account, I don't find that you ever had insurance coverage on your GSM phone."

Hearing Test For Customers?

So, this guy was offered a "free" phone last year (prior to the merger!) and is now surprised and upset that we're not offering him the V3 for free. He even tried the time-honored trick of SCREAMING at me over and over. Sadly for him, my headset has this ultra-modern device we call the "volume control". Somehow "a" turns into "all" in the dark recess of a customer's mind. This isn't new, and it will never go away.

"I'm sorry sir, but that 1/2 off coupon for Slurm expired over a hundred years ago."

"But nobody told me that, so you're going to give me my discount or I want to talk to your brain-slug supervisor!"

Cingular is bad

Based on all of the calls that I am getting on the Cingular merger I am trying to compile a list of how the merger has effected all of our lives. either real or fake. maybe we can get it Printed on CNN.com. or Weekly World News
I never weighed 300 pounds before the merger.
Reps were not able to easily guess my IQ over the phone before
There was no Giant Killer Tsunami in India before the merger
The merger gave me cancer
The merger has obstructed my colon
The merger ran over my cat while driving a dumptruck
My wife left me because of the merger
I had to sell my children to arabs because of the merger

This sucks...

Apparently calling sick for even one day awards the sick person the opportunity to NOT get OT for 30 days or a shift change.

"Are you ok? You keep throwing up into the garabage can, go home."

"Thats ok if I go home sick I can't do precious over time that I need to support myself with outside of work. I will continue working until my cold dead hands are pried from the keyboard."

"Thats ok management will fire you for some stupid reason anyways. They have already taken away anything that motivates you to work happy fo the boss."

Forcing Customer's to Migrate to Cingular

Heard a Rumor that sometime in April, {around the 6 month merger anniversary}, all of the legacy att wireless customer's will be forced to migrate to Cingular. Anyone out there have any insight on this ?

Emergency calls only...

My phone has been switching to this message several times a day for up to 5 mins at a time... anyone else been getting that? or anyone know the reason behind it?? it just started about a month or 2 ago. customer care has been no help

Waiting for a refund check

I migrated from ATTWS to Cingular back in December, In January A credit showed up on my bill for a decent chunk of money ($100+) So I called in 1/26 and requested a check for it. They tell that's fine and it would take 1-2 weeks. well 2 weeks went by and no check so I called back, This time they tell me it can take 2-4 weeks, So I waited another 2 weeks and still no check so I called back and I got told 4-6 weeks.

How long does it really take to get a refund check for ATTWS. Is it really 4-6 weeks or am I just getting a line of B/S

Unpaid bills added onto other ppl's bills?!?

What is with the customer's today??
I had a woman ask for a supervisor because her little angles absolutly DID NOT chat on aol and run up this high bill!! Her explaination for the charges? AT&T takes the unpaid bills from neglegant (sp) customers, divides up the charges and sneekily adds them onto paying cutomers bills!!
Where do they come up with stuff!
Sorry had to vent,,this was my first vent in frustration,,had to get it out! That and her theory is just so rediclous i had to share šŸ˜•
~sigh~. My brain hurts.
