Customers trying to make deals

Someone please explain this to me, because I never get it. Why do throw out hints about offers other carriers provide when trying to "negotiate" with us? If the deal with the other carrier is so good, and we refuse to or cant match it, why dont you just go to the other carrier?

For example, this lady calls me to ask about the new plans, and we're discussing a 29.99 plan. She's trying to get me to up the minutes, because somebody else (T-Mobile or Verizon, I think) offers 1000 minutes for 29.99, or so she claims. She asks me what I can offer her to beat that, and I again reiterate what we have. Then she starts to go off on me. WHY??? I told you what we got, you know what the other guy has, if the other guy is so good then why are you still...

40 CALLS W00T!!!

YEAH it's been so rare since I reached 40 calls in a day. WOOHOO!!! It was call after call after call today and I managed to pull off 40, no hour long calls, no 15 min. programming calls (except for a troubleshoot).

Tell TSD reps. to stop being so rude too, man, I make a simple comment that customer's phone isn't working after waiting 5 secs. for him to return. The call goes through as I am waiting. SORRY, gee, holy cow man.

Anywho it's quiet and like 20 people here and the night crew is not here, hmmmmmm.

Mornings are different...

WOW it's amazing, customers calling in to make payments and not dispute anything, I feel so secure knowing all they are angry at is that maybe there phone is not working right or that they can't make a payment with someone else's credit card.

I like this, I think I am going to enjoy OT, in the morning.

Then night falls and the "lurkers" come out to whine and dine.

*pls note stupid customer care thought "I can't make any calls" meant phone was not working"....duh!*

Sorry to bring this topic back but a guy on my team was trying to give a valid reason as to why he had to have a pseudo name. His only reason was on principle.

Any valid reasons to throw to the TL?

Is it just me or does anyone else get an amazing amount of stupid sexual prank calls??? I mean sure sometimes they are entertaining but at other times they are so lame (for lack of a better term). I have had two in the past hour.

Claims of Insanity

Customer just called in disputing overage charges on his $39.99 Local Plan demanding that he has always had 3000 daytime minutes on his plan. I insisted that no company offered that rate plan for that amount of money and he can research that information with other companies as well. I tell you, some people these days...

Best Call Of The Day-So Far!

Best call of the day so far is the one I just had.Customer calls in lost his phone, has 2 lines on a shared package activated like mid november, wanted free phones, willing to migrate, but wants free "2" v-551's and does not want to renew his contract.After doing eveything possible, got the save team to waive the upgrade fees, but not those 2 for free 🙄

I gave him the option of eith buying a blue phone full price, no discount since only been on service for like 4 months, or take the available discounts, he said well i can go to the store and get a free att phone with service then cxl, to keep the phone, this whole time he's on his wireless phone.He goes in and they tell we can only sell lines of cingular service, can't buy or add ...

E-Mail Problem Fix

So, I'm stuck with a dual-boot PC 'cause I take blue for a couple of hours and orange for a couple of hours. Problem is, "they" didn't fix it so I can get to email via Orange. Which, as some of you now know is really needed for some of those lovely CSP forms. After a couple of weeks useing the backdoor to Blue, and going through hell to get my job done, I figured out how to activate email directly through Orange. My sup was VERY happy, along with my neighbors. However, when I brought this to, let's call him Mr Happy, I had a steaming load dropped on the carpet in front of me.

If you don't have this issue move on to the next rant, if you do, and you'll know what I'm talking about, try this:

Cingular now in Richmond Va

went to the store today to get a new phone, unaware that its switched fully over to Cingular. 2nd day now. And of course there was a 4 to 8 hour wait in switching GSM phones over. And the usual bitching and complaining customers. (but only a certain kind tho).

"No one told me bout no 4 to 8 hour wait."

"thats because they have to switch all the crystal balls over aswell" I so wanted to say to her, as a customer myself, and out of the retail world for a weekend.

Curse you Jamster!

Honestly, who is getting sick of customers calling in demanding that we credit back these charges that we're not responsible for? And the insistance that they have the "holier than thou" attitude of it not being possible that they (or heaven forbid someone ELSE used their phone) subscribed for the service on the EXACT day and time as it displays on their invoice.

Also, who wants to track down where this Jamster operation is and raise some hell? Or am I just over-reacting?

Confused and ANgry LEGACY ATT REP

OK Personaly I've always wanted to work for an evil soul sucking empire, so I enjoy Being a "Cingular" cc rep, but the thing I don't understand is how us underlings do not help each other.. I mean if i get a call from a orange rep or a blue rep I do everything I can to help to help my fellow underling, so why do orange reps act like such .. a$$ holes..I called one today.. in westren tellagence ? and all I needed was to know if this was an active acct.. he would not help me... I know this don't apply for everyone .. I'm just venting..

Interesting e-mail with regards to rate plans and contracts on Blue

I got an interesting e-mail today, seems there have been customers getting contracts renewed based upon the assumption that would beable to keep their benefits for that extended period of time ex:Charter plans 99.99 unlimited minutes, shared plans, etc...

Well the e-mail that we received today that states the contract is a "service agreement" in the legal definition providing month to month billable airtime service.It said that that by renewing the contract DOES NOT GUARENTEE keeping the plan they are on for 2 years, just they have to stay on service for 2 years, since the renewal is for discounted equipment or or anything non promotional related"

It also goes on to state that the company can change or alter your plan, with 30 days ad...

Not able to receive coverage

I was a blue cust. was told that if I change to the orange side that my service "If you have our tdma service, you can continue to enjoy the network you have come to trust"
Well, three days in to new service and new plan w/ new nokia 3120 my coverage is horrible
Now I spent 7 total hours w/ CSR yest. only to find out the only solution is stay with new service that might get better or reverse migrate to old blue plan until contract is up
my old phone was a nokia 5165 that had coverage in areas that I no have Nada
what's up!!!

Yeah so lady calls in unable to view minutes in OCS until Apr. 4th. I adv. her it is unfortunate and I am sorry I cannot advise her of her minutes used.

She goes asking why can't I view the minutes and so forth. I advise of the usual, I also make the Cingular offer.

She blames me for not assiting her even after I advised her we can correct the issue by migrating her to Cingular.

In an evil huff she says good night and hangs up on me.

I give, Cingular, apparently, is to blame here because they are in charge and even though it's not their system, they never created it, they are to blame and I am also to blame for not helping her when I couldn't.

Some people's children

Ihad this dude call in the other day - wanting to add a line onto his AWS acct - I told him flat out that he can't unless he is willing to upgrade his phones to cingular - because AWS no longer exists so he cannot start a new service with it....( keep in mid he sounded about 25 to 30) So he got mad & put his daddy on the phone!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

I tired to xplain to this dumbass that he can't start a svc with a company that doesn't exist...for some reason he couldn't wrap his puny brain around that & kept saying that we were not upholding our end of his contract so I told him: sir - we are upholding your current contract what you are wanting to do is start a new line of svc & a new contract for all of your lines....
