Price matching

I've had 3 calls like this today. NO WE WILL NOT MATCH BEST BUY'S PRICE ON THE RAZOR!!! As a matter of fact, we will not match ANYBODY'S price on ANY PHONE!!! You sign a contract when you purchase that phone, therefore the price you agree to is the price you pay. You want a different price?? Fine, Buyer's Remorse your contract and go to best buy and get the phone you want, at the price you want, with a new phone number and new contract. Migrated over? Ported over? Sorry, you want that price after migrating or porting over, your going to lose your number. It isn't our fault you aren't the "informed consumers" you want to make us think you are and didn't think to shop around first. Oops, so sorry. What's that?? You want a superviso...

So glad I am not stuck in a thankless, dead end job like the individual above. Thankfully some of us have REAL jobs with real stressors unlike just having someone calling them with the same questions over and over. LMAO
just my 2 cents ;)

How much is Best Buy selling them for?

I had someone come in from Walmart and wanted me to match it for 150 bucks, I told him he could go to walmart, but he said he didn't get good service at walmart (customer service) and I told him that's what customer's get for wanting a cheaper price.

to say that you get worse customer service at Wal-Mart because the prices are lower is stupid. I sell wireless phones at walmart, and though many conection center associates may not know as much as others, some know a lot. My store for example, we have sold over a 100 phones this month so far. Are prices are cheaper and we know all the plans. Further more through the use of the internet we stay ahead on what is happening in the market. People here discuess how little walmart pays, I get over 40 hrs a week. where as i don't make commision, i'm sure to have a pay check of a set amount or more. also, my customers can trust that i'm going to be honest with them because i'm not trying to sell one carrier over another because the commision ...

If they want that price- go to that place to get it. Are people just lazy? Speaking of buyer's remorse some lady wanted to get out of her contract because she had bad service ( dropped calls, static ) in her home area and wasn't happy fine- legit reason to be unhappy, but she was about 6 months in her service. I told her well, you're beyond the 30 return policy and the reason why we have it is so you can test out your service. Plus I explained to her she got a phone for free and paying the ETF would be like paying for the phone @ retail and that contract is one of the reasons why we gave her the phone in the first place. Makes sense to me- but not her- oh well. I just don't know what to do with these people sometimes!

Umm... that is how price matching works... has nothing to do with laziness.

If you buy from Retail Shop A and they do price matching (which often includes a time after your purchase), then see a lower price at Shop B - Shop A will match the price of Shop B.

Sorry, you kinda off on that, which is misleading.

Price matching means that we will match our prices for existing customers that "we" as a company offer to new customers"

If we offer on our website "cingular.com" a price for a phone of $50.00 for a new customer and $100.00 for a exsiting customer we will match that price ...

To take it to a bigger extreme in our market (San Francisco) we do not match pricing on any level unless it is Retail Web Order Form on an activation. If a customer wishes to upgrade and they want the v200 at 29.99 we will gladly refer them to cingular.com and move on to the next customer. I do not know about other locations but we are busy enough that customer service and sales tactics alone are enough to get us the sale without dropping the price 🙂

"Cingular is not gonna match their offer, and lose even more money then they do now."

Cingular's not losing money. They may not be making as much money as they would like or could, but they're not losing money. If they were, their stock price would be $0.05 and they'd be closing stores and centers left and right. Just my $0.02.

I think he was referring to losing money on the phone, not over all.
