Great Cingular Support

So, for those that have been following my strugle, I'll let you know what's new with it. Those that haven't, pretty much, there's been horrible reception problems in my area.

Saturday, 10-15, I wasn't able to make or receive calls again. I called CS, got the after hours line, and called that. I talked to one lady, told her what happened and what had been happening. She said she's going to put in a ticket, but had to go check something. She put me on hold, and about 40 min. later some guy picked up. I asked where he came from and he said he was just answering calls and I was next. Turns out, she put me back in the queue and this guy's in FL. I tell him what's been happening and he says that it sounds like it's a tower issue. He sa...

It is tough to meet customers service expectations. I don't like the t226 at all for reception not SE's best work. I would try an upgrade and if not better return the phone. You have thirty days trials on all new activations and upgrades.

It's everyone in town and in the area that's having these problems. For sure, it's been on that phone, my V400, and my recently upgraded V551.

Oh, and the title, Great Cingular Support. The guy in FL was really great in helping me and doing everything he could to help to get it resolved. The ones I've talked to in the Lubbock, TX center seem to just blow me off.

Alice, TX 78332. The other city that they said the tower was shot is in Kingsville, TX 78363.

Just some info, Kingsville is where the King Ranch is, as in King Ranch F-150.

Just proud about being a Texan;).

I want to, but the thing that's bothering me is that they don't even know WHEN it could be fixed. Cingular's been great. I love their phones, their customer service is good, but all of that means nothing if I can't make or receive calls ☚ī¸.

And on top of that, Mailblocks (my email) is closing down!

I understand do what's best 4 u as a customer. If it is best for u to cancel then you should cancel service and the Early termination fees should be waived.

You know, I never even thought of leaving and asking them to waive the ETF. I have one line up in December, one in Feb, and the last in June. Right now, since I'm planning on leaving soon (mine's up already) it's going to be a bit more expensive to keep the other 3 on there, until I can get all but the June one off. Maybe they can let me take the two without an ETF in exchange for keeping the June one.

I really hate to leave Cingular, it's been a good 5 years, but, like you said, I have to do what's best. A lot around here are leaving. The lady at Cingular that I spoke to said that some in a different town being affected are super close to closing a lot of their business phones because of the problems.

Well, I tried today. First time I called, everything was fine until I mentioned cancelling and the ETF being waived. The lady went on and on and on, wouldn't let me talk, would talk over me. I finally asked to speak to a supervisor. I'm assuming she put me on hold, because I was still connected but couldn't hear anything. I waited about a minute then hung up and tried again. Pretty much the same thing.

This one, I started out by asking if there were problems in my area. She said nope, everything's fine. I told her about my problems and she said it was resolved on 10-7. I asked if it was resolved then, why was Tech calling me on the 17th and 18th? She said she didn't know, and said she would check with them. She did, came back...

Well, I tried again today. First lady wasn't doing anything. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that the super was out for the next 5 hours. I didn't buy it and told her I'm going to call back and hopefully get a call center with people working.

I called back, got a really nice lady. She said she was going to transfer me to the cancelation/save dept. to see what they can do. After talking with a really nice lady for a while, with her going back and forth between me and her manager, she told me to just speak to him. He was a bit harsh, but, whatever, probably annoyed with me bugging them so much. Ok, for the record, I had 4 lines with Cingular. Mine, which is up already. The other 3: One expires on Dec. 23, one in Feb...

You know what the VZW guys are going to say:

"Good Customer Service can prevent this sort of action."

All that aside, this is absolutely hilarious.

It would've made more sense to shoot into the customer service centers...Cingular's phone service is quite decent, at least for a lot of people! 🙂

Maybe it's some silly VZW people hijacking Cingular...corporate warfare 🙂
