Cingular's network problems and why?
I am going to say all I can about network integration and expansion. Cingular is in the middle of the largest network project in the history of wireless. Doing HSPDA/UMTS launch and network integration and network expansion and completing the GSM overlay that AT&T did not finish. AT&T was only around 80% done at the time of the buyout. At times people have complained about outages outages sometimes are planned reductions in service late at night or on weekends. But data features like SMS our down more frequently due to them needed to work on IRDB's and roaming data due to network integration. I read people on this board tossing around network integration but few here know what that means for customers. Most customers are not affected by thes...

Very interesting, however, in my opinion is that it shouldn’t have impacted cingular this bad. Stop blaming ATT. They should have expanding ATT’s perhaps and then did the overlap. See these are excuses that people on here and investors and customers don’t want to hear, because they want results.

I am not blaming AT&T at all. Network integration had to happen right away. These are not excuses this is how cell phone service works. It's not some magic trick. That would have taken way to long. To meet the demand have to move swiftly. I work at Cingular and that is not the reason for churn and for net add-ons. The main problem is poor customer experience. if a customer is treated poorly they will tell more people than if they are well treated. In a cell phone market that is saturated with dealer after dealer on every corner. make sit real easy to sign up with someone else and word of mouth in cellular is everything.
