any Cingular - St. Louis MO 6230 users out there?

My ENS version 6230 has the latest software (5.5) on it and still has problems holding signal.
I was wondering if anyone else has problems with the signal meter going up and down in the same spot with this phone and what version phone you have?
My phone will go from 1 to 6 bars in the same spot on my desk with out me touching it! When the meter goes down and am on a call it usually garbles the call for a second or two until the phone gets good signal again. My old 6200 and my loaner s710a do NOT act this way. Very Frustrating.

I really need to figure out of I have a hardware or software problem so I can proceed to get it fixed.

Does anyone working in a Cingular store have a 6230 (old one or newer one) that I can see and swap sims ...

**Nokia Phone info/help **

I am looking for a NEW nokia phone(s) for use on the cingular svc. Nokia 7270,6170, and 6260. Do you know if these are going to be released for the US market? If so when and will PTT work? I have been a long time CellularOne/ATT/Cingular, (etc...LOL) customer (10+ years)I have been MOSTLY happy with the majority of service, but also SOME bad...but OH well that's happens with a BIG company. I have been a LOYAL Nokia fan and have purchased higher/mid range phones only. This request is ONLY for help on purchasing/info on a NEW phone, and nothing more. Hopefully someone can steer me to a new phone(s)that are GREAT. I am a newbie to this form and hope ALL the haters out they don't try and slam me!!!Thanx for your help in advance.

What is true and not true about network integration

What is true is some customers might expereince service problems in their area due to network integration. But Cingular is required to tell u that if that is the case. If Cingular does not tell u that it is not the case. If you have experienced and outage it is not due to network integration it is probably due to network upgrades. Like HSPDA and UMTS and PTT and other services . Those upgrades were going to happen even if the buyout did not take place.

It's almost that time again.

Let's start bidding on Cingular's 3Q results... I think we'll be somewhere at 1.2M. πŸ˜• Anyone else?

Boycott this phone

πŸ‘Ώ

http://www.cingular.com/ipaq »

Cingular and HP should be ashamed to release a "new" phone that is almost a year old and has a 2 year old operating system on it. From what I have read online as well, this phone will NOT be upgradeable to WM2005!

Shameful. 😒

Trying Sprint, but really wanting Cingular

Well, I signed up for Sprint today. For weeks, I, along with others that I'ved talked to, have been having problems with Cingular in my area. Problems mainly where calls are either not coming in or not going out. Once it's connected, it's usually good.

I got to thinking though maybe it is my phone. Maybe that's just me not wanting to leave Cingular, because, for the past 5 years, they're been pretty good to me. Customer Service has told me it could be my phone that's a problem, but what about all the others with the same problem? I'm thinking of doing an upgrade and trying that phone out, since I get 30 days.

Does anyone have any ideas or comments on this? Maybe what kind of phone to get? I'm really not happy with the one I...

T-mobile sim card in a Cingular phone??

My friend's T-mobile phone bit the dust. My other friend had an old Cingular phone lying around. So, we stuck the T-mobile sim card in the Cingular phone just for the heck of it...and it works!

How is that?

HP iPAQ hw6510

What is your opinion of this phone? When do you think Cingular will actually have it? Please, only people with actual knowledge of it or expertise and/or people who work for Cingular. Come on, no trolling/emotional ranting/raving, honest opinions only, IE, no flaming/childish responses. Jim

Cities with UMTS by Nov 1, 2005

Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Baltimore, Boston, Washington, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland, SLC, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Tacoma subscribers can expect a November 1st launch of UMTS providing average download data speeds of at least 220-320 kbps or higher. This will also include HSDPA zones within those cities.

Also, the csp site is unlocked for the time being (its said to be for training for reps) so you can check it quick before its locked up again

Maps are included on the right hand side-bar. its pretty detailed.

Need new phone, Old plan (ATTWS) does not exist.

I've had AT&T for a few years and got a bunch or promo min when I signed on as a GSM subscriber for a shared national plan. My phone has now bit the dust 😒 . I went in to the Cingular store and was told that I had to sign up for a new plan to get a subsidized phone. Fair enough. However, the new plans stiff me on the minutes.
Do I now have go to ebay for a phone? Or another carrier for a plan? Is it impossible to sign up for for 2 years more on my old (ATTWS) plan in exchange for a new phone?
Thanks.

Switching from TDMA to GSM.

I had good service for many years with AT&T TDMA using a Nokia 5160. I was very happy with it until one afternoon this summer when I came home and found that my neighborhood no longer had TDMA service. Over several weeks I received a lot of misinformation about the problem form Cingular: β€œit’s a temporary problem and will be fixed soon” β€œthere is no problem in your area – your phone has gone bad and can’t pick up a signal” (which in no way explains why I had a great signal other places, including the subway) β€œyour phone is really old and must have gone bad – you need a new phone” (true, I needed a new phone, but not because the old one had stopped working.) Finally Cingular released a phone I was interested in buying (the Nokia 6102...
