Switching To Cingular

I currently have Verizon. Great everything. I am interesting it getting the Razr. It's suppose to come out in November for Verizon. But Cingular is also coming out with the Razr 2. Witch seems like the phone for me. My contract is up in Janurary. The only thing holding me back from Switching is the New Every 2 deal. Does any one thing Cingular will give that to me toward the purchase of a phone if not I guess it is another 2 years with Verizon. 🙄

Bluetooth Head Set question

How loud are they?
My car is kind of loud going down the highway and I was wondering if a Bluetooth head set might help me hear calls better.

Are they louder than the standard earpiece on a Nokia phone - or can than be?
Are the microphones sensative and loud enough for the other person?

Any headset recommendations?

thanks Kevin

w800i question about getting the commands to have mms/text/voicemail

If I got a w800 on the sony erricsson website how will i get my voicemail, text, and mms set up? I ask this because i really want this phone but I want to know if I can set up the phone properply before i buy it. Im not worried about the phone working on the network because my mom has a old black and white nokie that only has 1900 band and it works properly. Last question how do I set up regular voice calls?

Cingular Actually Has 51.4 Million Customers, Not 51.6M?...

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/051010/cingular_wireless_cus ... »

Just thought it was kind of odd... how do you think you have 200,000 customers that you really don't? What kind of reporting software are they using? 😕

For those behind one of those corp firewalls:

Cingular Wireless Revises Customer Count for 2Q Downward on Technical Reporting Errors

ATLANTA (AP) -- Cingular Wireless LLC, the largest U.S. wireless carrier, on Monday revised downward its customer count for the second quarter, citing technical reporting errors and saying the change doesn't affect past earnings.

Blah Blah Blah

*Power cycle the phone at least once a day
*Power cycle the phone 3 times in a row
*Don't turn the phone off more than 1 time a day
*Don't power cycle the phone daily
*Daily remove the SIM and replace
*Only remove SIM in extreme cases
*Take out the battery without turning it off
*Leave the phone off for at least 3 mintues to get updates
*Leave the phone off for at least 20 minutes/day
*Leave it off an hour/day

Those are all different solutions I've been given to help remedy the missed calls, network busy, call failed, and other reception related issues. What the heck is going on with Cingular?? For 4 years, it's been pretty decent, now it's crappy. There are towers fairly close to where I live, so that's not an issue. This is...

Perpendicular Lines in MPi Tool...

Ok, I was checking my coverage area in my market -zip 32225-. And I couldn't figure out why those perpendicular lines were there. Does that mean that my market is being integrated? Can someone that has access to the MPi tool tell me... I'm intrigued about what that is... 😕

Insurance Claims and Cingular Policy

Insurance claims are supposed to be handled solely through our insurance agent, Lockline. Technically, a customer should never have to step foot into a store to file or complete a claim. Lockline has an 800 number that's open at all times to handle claims. Lockline is also supposed to send a phone to the customer to complete the claim. On those rare occasions when a customer is sent to a store to complete a claim and get another phone, we can already assume the person has pitched a fit to insurance for them to make an exception, so we tread lightly with these customers.
With that said, when a store completes the insurance claim, we give the customer a phone in a box that has a sticker explaining the return/exchange policy for new purcha...

Cingular/Convergys Training

Is it just me, or does the training we get as CSRs leave a lot to be desired? Been working here for about a year now, and am only now finding out some of the basics required to do this job properly. Yes customer's can be a pain in the neck, but that is what we get paid to handle. What seems to upset me the most is that I keep getting conflicting information from the Res Desk, Managers, TL's and OM's.. simple questions, simple solutions that seem to take on a life of their own with no satisfactory resolution. And what's the deal with the phone #'s that never seem to work?

PAR? Shmar!! No transfers, AHTs - really are we here to help Cingular customers or to achieve high quality scores? If it's the first then Quality is gonna be a prob...

Porting

Okay, quick issue... If a customer wants to port their number and they come to a small store, chances are not all of our number transfer equipment is working at all times. Why whine to a sales rep that you really really need those phone numbers from another provider's phone when the cust could easily reenter their numbers to the Cingular phone & SIM & never have to do that again as long as the sim isn't burnt out by a customer trying to change security settings. How hard is it for cellular customers in general to use a little common sense sometimes?

Trying to find it again

Im a Cingular Wireless Sales Associate. I have been with the company for a 1.5 years. Before I worked for Cingular I was with Verizon For 2.5 years as a senior sales rep. As of the last 4 months I feel as if I have lost the interest and desire to do what I do. Between cust care telling customers one thing and the stores telling them another. To getting yelled at because a cust bought a phone online and it didnt show up for a month. I used to love these things I saw them as challenges now all I feel is bitternes towards the system..............Any advice?????????

SIM - ranting about a customer, so be warned!

I can't take it! PLEASE explain why customers call sim cards "stem." I want to strangle them after I've already told them it's a SIM card.

Kwicher Bichin

I am amazed to see sales and customer reps in a public forum whining about customers, those we are paid to serve. This makes even less sense than them complaining about a service or product they paid for.

We are the professionals. We are the ones paid to be there and to know what is going on. We are the ones paid to see that the communication is effective and that the customer understands what they bought. If they don't understand, it is possible that the someone didn't do that job.
