Dropping the warranty part of the insurance... CSP has said that for months now.
Did you read the letter? What market are you in?

I've received nothing to that effect, any further info???

They ARE dropping insurance on TDMA and GAIT phones as there are no more left in LockLine inventory...
...
That is completely incorrect. I received the letter from lock|line (Cingular's insurance carrier) and what the letter actually says is that coverage is being broadened to include cover mechanical problems after the manufacturers warranty has expired. 😎

Not entirely. The official statment on CSP said that cingular would be dropping it's 4.99/mo plan that included lockline's fee as well and a warranty fee tat covered lost or stolen and physical or liquid damage and mechanical or electrical defect regardless or warranty status. Now if the letter from lockline says they will be expanding their coverage to include out of warranty repairs as well, that would explain why cingular decided to drop their own warranty coverage.

that's exactly what my letter said!!!

No they aren't dropping insurance. It's an FYI to customers that their insurance coverage may be changing in the near future.
Since it's insurance related, the laws that govern insurance companies apply, and they have to let them know of changes a certain amount of time before they take place...
