Cingular coverage

Elminster

Aug 27, 2004, 2:45 PM
I am currently stuck in Kansas and there is no verizon local service so I am always roaming now and that affects my services like voice mail and internet access. looking at switching to Cingular, I work for lockline and we get a small discount with Cingular as well as I work for the Cingular section and I like how they handle the service. one problem I am running into is that the city that I work in has full coverage, that being Salina Kansas, and all of kansas to the right of that. to the left of the state in the area I currently live the coverage is in very small locations, looking like only on a few highways. I am wondering if I will be able to use the phones at all in the area that I live, wether there is roaming coverage there or not...

Elminster,

GSM is good in the state of Kansas. You are correct that the left of the state has sparse coverage. When you look at the GSM Nation plan, all the red will be coverage. Any yellow on the map is currently no service. Have patience, Cingular's goal is 2 be coast to coast GSM by the end of 2005.

Lockline is good! You have saved my live several times with my multiple lines! It's worth the $4 a month. Best wishes.
