I recently signed up for Unlimited Internet with T-Mobile. I've seen a lot of people on various forums say that they get it for $19.99 a month. When I called to sign up they are charging me $29.99. I feel like I'm getting ripped off. Am I wrong?

Here is an example from this forum:

Did the price go up? If so when? Should I get the add-on from a dealer instead of direct or am I just SOL?

How are you using your internet, and with what device? there ARE certain instsances where there is a $29.99 and a $19.99 solution. There are also "bundeled" packages which can be the determining factor, too.

I have a family plan with three phones on it. I think it is 1600 minutes for $129 (it is an older plan). I just bought a non-T-Mobile phone (the i-Mate JAM) and want unlimited data for it (WWW, Email, VPN, etc). The Internet capabilities are built into the phone because it runs Pocket PC Phone Edition. I've seen a lot of posts where people claim to be getting it for $19.99. I don't understand why I'm paying more.

This is the phone, but note that I live in the US and it is not offered by T-Mobile here.

If that is your phone and PDA all in one, the internet plan should just be $19.99. Call into customer care and ask them to switch you over.

$29.99 stand-alone

this is nothing wrong
pick up a pamphlet at Tmo store (not dealer)

No, if you have a family time plan, you can add $19.99 for unlimited vpn internet or t-mobile internet. Are you sure you're paying $129.99/mo for 1600 minute family time plan? if so you may want to consider changing that: $129.99 currently gives you 2500 whenever minutes, and $99.99 gives you 1600.

Again, though, yes $19.99 add on feature should do just fine for you.

Let me clarify just by giving an example:

For instance if you had a Blackberry Device, to have individual access to it, it's $19.99/mo. (assuming this is added on to a voice plan) or $29.99/mo if you need access behind a proxy server, or firewall, or need to connect to another company's server.

The only other $29.99 price would go for data-only service. Meaning a seperate plan with no included voice minutes, but pay as you go.

What reason did they give you that you needed to pay $29.99/mo?

🤭 I just checked and I was mistaken. We get the 1600 minutes for $99.99. I do know for sure that the rep quoted us the data for $29.99. I will call back, it was probably just was an error. Thank you for the clarification, I was afraid I was just stuck with it!
