Customer handset renewals

I have a question for CSR's-
1st off, I work indirect and we use ICAM to do customer account management and we get customers coming in all day long that want to do handset upgrades. that being said. Sometimes in the ICAM system it says that the customer is not elligable for a renewal however when i call into C.C. they say that the customer is elligable for full discount on a handset with of course an extension of the contract. with that,(i know this is long, sorry) My company will not let us do an over the phone upgrade/renewal any more because when we send in hand written renewal contracts to T-Mobile that they say it isn't concrete enough and so now we need to print the contract off of the ICAM system. A short question for T-Mo reps.....

I've seen the term "Smart Access" used around this forum quite a bit. What exactly is that?

I'm a rep for another wireless carrier, so I'mnot as familiar with all of T-Mobile's services as some of you.

Is SA a type of prepaid service, or some sort of account-management service?

I'm just trying to educate myself so i can better understand these forums.

Does T-Mobile ever "reset" their towers? If so, when would this typically occur? Thanks.

Changing phone #

Can you change your phone number whenever you want and to a different area code? Also, can you get an 800 number and how much does it cost?
Last, can you have 2 phone numbers (different area codes) that ring the same phone and how much does it cost?

Thinking of switching to T-Mobile

So I am really interested in the T-Mobile Sidekick II. Right now I have Verizon and honestly I cannot see a reason for leaving them other than the fact that the Sidekick is so sweet. So my question is how is the service with T-Mobile because I'd hate to go through the hassle of switching if I'm going to be disappointed.

Custom Wireless - T-Mo auth dealer - feedback please?

This is directed to EVERYONE that works for T-Mobile direct. This is on both the CSR's in the stores and the CSR's in the call centers.

How many of you have had to deal with the NorthEast Custom Wireless dealers?

Several times over the past month of January, I have had angry T-Mo/Custom Wireless come in here to my store. These customers ported from VZW to T-Mobile through Custom Wireless. The customers are angry because they got charged an ETF.

These customers were promised that Custom would pay their ETF. When they approached Custom, the associates claimed that "oh no we never promised you that" and to "go to the VZW guys and they will take care of it for you". This just makes my day harder.

Ideas? Comments?

how long tower outages

The single tower that servers most of the town that I live in (Spencer, MA) has been offline since yesterday morning. Are extended outages typical on specific towers? If this tower doesn't get back online soon, T-Mobile is basically useless to me. Customer Service only has information that the tower is down due to technical problems and is "pending resolution". The agents should be given more info than that vague wording that doesn't really mean a darn thing. đŸ‘ŋ

System Busy

đŸ˜ĸ I live in Chicago and I get great service in the city and burbs,but I only live there during the summer months. I am in central Illinois "Normal area" most of the time I'm at school and I get the System busy error. I mainly get this Error After nine,but it happens sometimes during peak hours. I have been with T-mobile for a while and i want to keep them,but if this keeps happening I'm going to have to leave. Does anyone know of any advancements to this area or areas in general because this is a major issue. I can't make calls after nine and that sucks.

Late night call to Cust. Care

I called into cust. care to make a payment and I got a rep. that sounded like he didn't want to be there. He sounded like this: "Hi...My name is XXXXX, howwww may I helpp youuu" Everytime I call cust. care, I usually get someone that sounds lively, and happy to be there, especially the lady reps, but he sounded like he hadn't had sleep for like 24 hours.

UPRGADE POLICY??

What is T-Mobile's policy on upgrading phones?? I hear of people that say that they can go to T Mobile and get a new phone whenever they want without having to pay full retail price, and some say they have to extend their contract, or that it was extended without them knowing. Can anyone clear this up for me? Is T Mobile very lenient with upgrading phones early or is it that these people just don't what they are talking about?? 😕 🙄

TM-150 Help please

Ok so I just picked one up a little while ago and it is so amazing! I love how you can customize basically eveything on this phone and the screen is nuts! I love having the SD slot but thats where im running into some trouble. Ive transfered some pictures onto the card via my computer and I cant view them on my phone to set them as walpapers? How do i go about transfering files via the sd card? Thanks

Is it possible to download JAVA into a sidekick.... I need to run an "applet" for a video conferencing!

Unlimited 9.99 SMS feature

It's not showing up as an available feature to add, I expect this means that it's being discontinued, but at this moment there's no official word, so if you've been waiting to get this one, grab it NOW! đŸ˜ŗ It can be added by manually typing in the feature code in the account.

Has anyone seen any information on this? I'm a dealer at a corporate store, but we have yet to see anything concrete. Just curious.
