Companies ask SBC to block T-Mobile calls
By Jerri Stroud
Of the Post-Dispatch
12/15/2004

Traffic between customers of cell phone provider T-Mobile and the customers of 12 small telephone companies in Missouri could be disrupted today after the companies asked SBC Communications Inc. to start blocking T-Mobile calls after midnight Tuesday.

T-Mobile USA, based in Bellevue, Wash., said it would route the calls through long-distance companies to avert potential disruption. T-Mobile said it is willing to negotiate with the companies.

The 12 companies, including Fidelity Telephone Co. of Sullivan, say they have tried...

T-Mobile (Britain) to lay off 2000+ employees

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/business/articles ... »

From the article:
HUNDREDS of jobs at T-Mobile in Britain are likely to go after the mobile phone company's German parent ordered a 10% job cull.

Deutsche Telekom is looking to cut 2,200 jobs at T-Mobile across Europe in an attempt to reduce costs of €150m (£104m).

Up to 650 jobs are feared to be going in Britain and as many as 1,200 jobs are likely to be lost in Germany.

About 3,500 workers based at the company's headquarters in Hatfield, Herts, have already been told of a 'save for growth' programme under which the company will need to reshape its business rather than chase customer growth. T-Mobile employs a further 3,000 in call centres.

Retail store reps earn...?

I'm thinking about going to work at a T-Mobile direct store that is opening in my area soon, and I'm very curious about what kind of compensation I might expect. I already have looked at all of the benefits, but I have no idea what the actual dollar amounts are that somebody might bring home. I realize that this is personal information, so I would appreciate it if any of you would be willing to maybe even give me a ballpark estimate. I would also love to know what the hourly wages are and how the commission structure works. Thanks to anybody willing to share. 😁

Voicemail questions

Is there a way to dial someone's voicemail box to leave a message instead of calling their number and waiting for voicemail to pick up???

Also, is there a way to go straight to leaving a voicemail message bypassing the voicemail greeting message???

Thanks in advance!!!

Call Center Trouble?

I have never spent a night off the phones eating pizza and watching movies on T-Mobile. We got to work and our call center had been offline all day long. Computers, phones, network...everything.....they told us due to a severe ice storm in North Carolina a fiberoptic cable of MCI's (the company who provides our landline network services) broke. They
"OOOH'd" everyone home except us, because I (my team) work the closing shift ( well until next week hehe) and would need us there in case we came back online. Oh it was wonderful we watched Office Space, Zoolander, and Napoleon Dynamite.

Did anyone else have problems with systems where you were yesterday?

What happens when.....

T-Mobile gets shut out at the upcoming spectrum auction?

I mean T-Mo is already admitted to being at least 2 years behind other carriers regarding 3G rollout. Plus the horrible coverage and expiring roaming agreements with Cingular. The price dropping and giveaways didn't work for ATTWS, so how's it going to work for T-Mobile?

I just don't see T-Mobile having the money to compete with Cingular, Verizon, or Sprint for spectrum.

Feel free to wade in.....if it's not to deep.

Personal Coverage Check

Did anyone else see the article on Streamline yesterday that we are going to begin testing the Personal Coverage Check on the website? Select customers will have a trial period to view it(and no I don't know who).

I'm thinking that's a good thing?

Please Help Me With My Project

Hello, I am doing a project for a class, picking the best and worst cell phone service providers (that are offered in my area) and I need to collect information via a survey from cell phone users about the services that they have received from their respective carriers. So I figured what better place to post then here at phonescoop.com. If you would like to help me with my project here is what I need:

Name of carrier:
Rate Carrier (1 good - 10 bad):
What you liked:
What you didn’t:
What phone did (do) you have (be as specific as possible):
How did CS treat you?:
How long were (have) you (been) with them:
Then just your comments:

At the end just an area code (for classification purposes only):

Just copy and paste the above and...

Stupid customer trick #4,859,993,884,777....

Lady calls up and wants me to check her minutes, I advise her of #646#, she says she knows about that but her rate plan changed in mid cycle. Okay, I say, I can tell you the number of minutes to subtract from the total to give the correct minute usage. Turns out, however, after I give her all this, that she won't use #646# because it tells her the number of minutes USED, but not the number of minutes LEFT. Her exact quote, "I don't be havin' time to be subtractin' like that."

Ah yes, but you DO be having time enough to call customer care, wait through the IVR, go through account verification and self help options for about ten minutes total in order to be TOLD how many minutes you have left. Am I being misanthropic if I assume that wh...

To T-Mobile Reps

😳 Any T-Mobile reps have to go to work tomorrow in the New York Tri-State Area? Its a mess out here. We are in a NYC and we are in a Snow Emergency! NYC is getting 10-20 inches of snow! Long Island is going to get 2 Feet of snow! 😲

Raiding Party

You know what I find amusing? These people who are diehard loyalists to whatever service provider they like going into other carrier forums and posting defamitory, and argumentative statements trying to incite some sort of angry response from the loyalist in that camp. It reminds me of some futuristic, apocolyptic tale where these different clans are all raiding each other fighting over the water in the last clean river or something. It's funny. I'm not saying stop. These incursions into each others Turf is at the most basic level amusing and in general beneficial to all communities in creating discource between the carrier minions that we all are.

Indoor reception

Thinking of moving from Sprint to T-Mobile because I prefer their phones and data packages. I live in LA, and for every one person who says coverage is bad, another says it's good, so it seems down to personal experience. However, there seems to be some recurring thought that T-Mobile's coverage is not so hot inside buildings, especially compared to Sprint. I think it's something to do with CDMA v 1900mghz GSM, but the bottom line: what is your experience generally with indoor reception?
