...and they aren't sharing, either!

Ooookay. So, customer and I are talking, and he asks me to put him on hold. People don't usually ask to be put on hold, so I'm a little curious, say okay no problem and hit the mute button. Sure enough, guy takes what sounds like the mother of all bong rips, coughs like a maniac and says something unintelligible to somebody in the room (probably something like "Eeeear!") I wait until he composes himself, unmute and we go on... Sometimes this job is just too weird for words... 🤣 😎

Nokia Phones and T-Mobile

Since T-mobile test their new phone so well, I wonder if the reason they carry so few Nokia's in the US is the reception/internal antenna issue. The reason I say this is that I have a Samsung E105 (locked), Motorola V600 (locked) and have bought a Nokia 6230 (unlocked). External and internal antennas respectively. I have tested both in marginal areas. The Nokia just does not seem to hold a signal in the weak reception areas that I have tested and compared these 3 phones.

Convince Me To Buy A Sidekick

Ok here's my deal. I'm a Cingular Customer and have been for over 6 months. I love my Cingular Service, Plan, Phone, Etc. However, I really like the Sidekick and the Sidekick Plan since I text message like crazy and IM like crazy too. If I were to get a Sidekick, I still keep my Cingular Phone, Plan, and Service but I get it for Text Messaging, E-Mail, AIM, and Internet use. I use a Ogo from Cingular for all my Text Messaging, Instant Messaging, and E-Mail use but no Internet. So I'm asking how good is the Internet access and speed? Can you go on any website? Can you go on myspace? Is the plan better than the $17.99 Ogo Plan? Does your AIM Buddylist lets you have your full list?

Information

Does anyone know how reliable the information is at www.mobiledia.com. I read a few things on that site that seem to be a little suspect. For instance, they have the new V635 listed a 1st Quarter release and the carrier as T-Mo. That sounded real suspect to me.

Lyin', cheatin', SOBs!

Just took a call from a customer who activated two days ago at an indirect dealer. They gave her a phone that didn't work, then reluctantly exchanged it for a USED Samsung R225 that was set up in Spanish and she couldn't read it to change the language back. They told her she didn't qualify for any other phone because she's SmartAccess. I suggested she use a few minutes of her 14 day trial period to shove the phone back up where the sun don't shine on the person who fed her this line of bologna, she was hesitant to do so because they'd locked her into a two year contract--if she cancels she pays them some horrendous fee. I gave her the lowdown, the list of free phones available from our web site and the locations of her closest corporate ...

External v. Internal Antenna Reception

Anyone have an ideas on whether the external 'stub' antenna gets better reception that an internal one on the T-Mobile network. With advances in technology, does an internal antenna hold a signal just as well?

T-Mobile commercials

Now that I've finally seen some of the T-Mobile TV commericals, I've got to say that I'm pretty disapppointed.

I just saw the "auctioneer" fast-talking commercial last night and while I thought it was well written and everything, I don't understand why T-Mobile is advertising their unlimited "family talk" like it's something brand new and unique to them. Every carrier has that, and has for some time now! In addition, I don't remember that they mentioned you could call anyone on T-Mobile, not just people on your plan. (Maybe they did and I just don't remember it.)

I suppose most people are under the impression they have to add the MTM to their family plans like they do on individual lines and they're trying to address that issue. Go...

I am looking for a new phone!!!

I am looking to buy a new phone and am contemplating on which phone to buy. I am stuck between the Motorola A630 and the Nokia 6600. I know that they are two different phones but I was wondering if some people could give me some feedback on the over all quality of these and which one would be better. Any feedback would be great.

Unlocked v. Locked Phones

My experience with using unlocked phones (usually they come from Europe when ordered here in the US) - is that they seem to have a harder time keeping the signal and seem to loose a weak signal a lot quicker? Is this just my imagination or is there something that T-Mobile does to its branded phones that will make them inherently more stable? (I'm using an unlocked Nokia 6230 at the moment)
