Motorola V600

I am in L.A. (I know, some of you know that already from previous posts) and work for warner brothers. AT&T is a corporate partner of WB and the account rep for Warners emailed me this morning to tell me that the V600 has been pushed until the 2nd week of March. I don't know if this is old news to you guys, if this is nationwide or only in regards to the west coast, or if he is even right. just wanted to pass it along, do with it what you wish...

Apparantly Europe received the bulk of the first shipments from Motorola, while only limited quantities are starting to ship to AT&T.

Yesterday is said 'first half 2004'.

I spoke to multiple people today starting with AT&T customer service. They transfered me to the corporate foundation account department because they have the info on our account and it seem the way to go. While confirming discounts I asked about the v600. She said it was not available and they have no idea when it will be. About 2 hours later I get a call on my cell from the same rep. She said this phone will be available in retail stores on 2-17-03 after 10:00am. I asked if I could order it now and she told me it would not be available online or by phone for one week. I asked what retail stores and she said she has no way of knowing. My caller ID displayed 1-800-888-7600. No retail store can confirm any of this info. I will not be running t...

Okay... first I read that it was coming out on the 9th, then I read that it was due on the 16th... I checked AT&T's website and no dice. I called Customer Care and still no dice and they have no clue as to when it's due other than "soon". Can someone please put my restlessness to ease here? I really would just like some sort of an accurate date so that I am not checking the website every 10 minutes in hopes. I have been waiting for this phone for a long time, I really hope it is all that it is cracked up to be.

I love this phone and im probably gonna get it the first day it comes out. But theres one thing i would change about it: the antena, i wish it had an internal intena for better looks. and it also wouldnt hurt to have upgradeable memory card like my nokia 3650. All that aside, its still gonna be the best phone on the market and i hope erverybody on this forum will get one. 😛

You guys got me worried so I called back to confirm my order....SHe looked it up and the idiot ordered a T721, but somehow still came up with a price of $179. after 40% discount, buth then the lady looked up the order, and it is FREE so I dont know what is going on she told me to enjoy my free t721....woohoo! not.
She told me what you guys have been getting that there was an email this am about another delay....

I finally just went to Best Buy and bought the V400 for Cingular. Being that the phone is sold unlocked I'm using it on ATT till the V600 comes out. Best part is that Best Buy gives you a 30 day unconditional return so I'm kinda just renting the phone. Can't use my bluetooth headset but I have a good feel for V600 when it finally comes out. I recommend that if you have to have a new phone, like me (I had the T68i), that you do the same.

I'm sure we are all going crazy with our V600 plans - Wait, or buy anther phone now? ATT? Cingular? Buy either the T616 or V400 now and v600 later? BT functionality versus Moto-flip fashionabilty? I personally, am going crazy trying to pick a phone and service, so here's my question for you/ all, I'd really appreciate some expert input:

I'm a not yet a sub for either cing or att right now - I'm thinking of going with the T616 thru cingular b/c I really want a hot phone SOON as well as the conveience of BT, AND ATT is not so great in Western NY right now. Then I'd just wait a while for the v600 for cingular to come out (I'll buy it out right). I would imagine that any tic tac problems encountered with the newer ATT version would be worked...

But after all the false starts: yes available, no not available, v600WHO? Good news came on Friday. FCC approved a v710 by Motorola for my current carrier Verizon. All I wanted was bluetooth to hook up my powerbook and Tungsten T3, when not at home or work. Maybe that phone will be available before I ever see a real live v600. I'm begining to believe it's vaporware. 🙂

by the way everything is moving along, the pone will be out probably in a few months. but by then the hype will be down and it will probably already be out dated!

Ok folks here is the scoop, and this is what probably happened with gotmy600. The sales rep told me that they did receive an email saying thise phone is delayed. What she did do was put my order in the system, with an IWOF order #. This is not the normal order number as it is for their backup system. What this does do is put my order in the system so when the phone is available, it will automatically ship to me without me having to call in and place the order.

If nothing else, I won't have to deal with long hold times.

Sorry guy but the phone ain't out yet get it threw you're head and stop posting things that are not real you're not helping anybody with giving false statements..

And people lets calm down the phone most likely should be out after the Oscars lets be realistics Motorola did this last year with the V70 all the Oscars Nominees had the phone before anybody else in this case other celebrities have it before they did also but that should be the case here...In till then here we will wait.So lets see what happens on March 1st 😎 😎 😎

I'd like to thank everyone who has emailed me. I really appreciate everything you guys have offered, you've all been very nice.

Now, the release date was today, but as I specified in an earlier post, the phone was delayed due to a software problem. I've seen people post April but that is not accurate. It won't be that long!

The Motorola rep (who you guys also bombarded with emails, chill out!) is still very confident it will be out by the end of February. So I am guessing it will hit retail stores by March.

Note, I said GUESS. It is a total crapshoot now, and as someone else pointed out all jsut speculation. But we are definitly down to sooner rather then later.

I called the minute the first store opened down here and the guy there told me "maybe march". 👿

So..here it is..
the 16th..

I guess we'll find out..
