Motorola i730 / i733 / i710 / i720 / i740

Hi everyone,
a friend of mine has an i740 that he had with Boost Mobile. But he also has an account with Nextel and wanted to use his Boost Mobile (i740) phone with his Nextel account.
So he put is Nextel SIM card into the i740, but it asked him to enter some code.
Does anyone know what exactly this code is for? I'll try to find out what code this exactly was, but shouldn't the SIM card allow you to use a different phone as long as it is the same technology (iDEN)?
Also, since Boost uses nextel's network, shouldn't it work fine?

I just bought the usb data cable for the i730. I've already downloaded the ringtones to my pc... but I dont know how to upload them to my phone.. How can I do it?? Please help me!

I would like to know if anyone here owns or has used the i710. I am thinking about getting a Nextel and I would like to know if this phone is good or not and if it has the poor signal strength like the i730.

I'm with verizon right now but seriously considering switching to Nextel and will probably get the i730 since i know someone who has that phone it has been working for him very well. my profession is heavily involved with geographic information and the big thing i like about the i730 is that i can use the GPS and if i want, download trimble's program for it to make it a true handheld GPS (from what i've read). anywho, i just wanted to know if anyone on here has used that program and what they have thought about it. thanks

Im interested in buying that car mount for the i730 (the one from Motorola, http://www.idenstore.com/dr/v2/ec_MAIN.Entry1 6?V1=623102&PN=1&SP=10023&xid=34196&V5=310323 46&S1=&S2=&S3=&S4=&S5=&V2=&V3=&V4=). But it looks like you have to attach that black strip to the back of the phone to snap it into the car mount. It also says that "The button can also be used with the Swivel Belt Clip (included) for an outward facing carry solution." What do they mean by this??

I would rather use a leather case that has that little black strip on it, so I didn't have to attach it straight onto the phone. Is there a case out there that has it? Or any other solutions, please suggest.

I've always been true to verizon, but now more and more of my friends are getting nextel and my contract with verizon is expiring soon.

I've always been a fan of nextel except two factors, and they are important factors.


1. Horrible reception, none of my friends nextels work in my basement, obviously i need the phone to work at my own house.

2. Atrocious sound quality from the speaker, i have never heard worse garble coming out of a cell phone in my life.


SO.. I need to know, did nextel fix these issues with the i730? Can you actually understand what people are saying, and is reception better overall?

I recently purchased an i730 for a good deal from Nextel ($119) and they gave me a discount on my bill. I have an opportunity to trade a friend of mine for his i95 which he got around Christmas time. He will also throw in $50. Is the i730 that much better than the i95? Any thoughts or suggestions?
