"No Service" = NO CLOCK, NO DATEBOOK & NO ALARMS

I was shocked to find that if the newer Motorola phones are in an area of "No Service" your Clock, DateBook, Reminders, Alarms, also DO NOT WORK. You will not know the time and neither will the phone!

That means if you have programmed in your datebook an appointment, or meeting your v810 or v710 WILL NOT REMIND you!!!

I will be selling my Verizon v810 and not buying the v710 either. ☚ī¸

You have a messed up phone. The clock, datebook, reminders and alarms have nothing to do with service. Get a new phone... đŸ˜ŗ

Just checked with folks at both Motorola and Verizon and all confirmed that while you can continue to "look at", "add", and "edit" your Datebook the new Verizon phones do not have a feature to set the "Date and Time" nor will an internal clock be available to remind you or sound an alarm.

My v710s alarm always went off whether there was service or not. In my basement, where I sleep, I go in and out of service, and my alarm was always there to wake me... Unless every time the alarm went off my phone quickly got service..?

BTW I'm not hobo, my basement is a fully furnished APPT.. 🙂

I can say that there have been just a couple of times where I have not had any service but the clock and date did work. Can't confirm the alarms/schedules though but have not had any problems with the clock or date.

Actually, let me correct myself... I just came from my friend's house across town which is basically in the middle of nowhere, no cellular phone with any company gets signal there... Needless to say I got no signal and the phone displayed the "No Service" message, the clock on the outside did not work, but it did work on the inside screen's bottom righthand corner. I checked the datebook and I got a "busy, try again later" message.
