I just sent Dennis.Strigl the Verizon Wireless CEO asking him for information on the release and letting him know just how much buzz is out about this phone.

Go ahead and let him know. Its just an email and doesn't cost you anything.

You'll never receive a response back from Dennis himself. If your email address isn't on "the list" it probably gets routed to his secretary or someone like that and you'll get a canned message that probably won't even pertain to your original question. It was a good idea but I don't see you getting anywhere with that email assuming he even responds or checks his email at all.

I second that. No one on the board of directors has to answer to you about release dates. The phone will be released when they are good and ready...so get your panties out of a bunch and wait like everyone else.

Besides...if you were going to send a message asking about release dates....why didn't you ask about the release dates for the Moto 810? How about the LG 8000? The CDM 9900? Don't forget to ask about the Kyocera Koi! Or what about the re-launch of PTT and the new PTT phones? 🙄

Not so fast! I had issues with AT&T Wireless that kept getting out of control so I emailed the CEO of AT&T (John Ziglas). I was very professional in my email and he responded back (not an underling) and assigned the problem to an assistant (gave me his name and number and email) and that person contacted me and resolved the problem in one phone call. This I also have to admit is very rare, especially for ATTWS but they were taking a beating on their customer service levels so maybe Ziglas felt that he should respond himself.

I agree. I have had great success with purchasing stock in companies that pay attention to the little guy. If the CEO of a major nation wide company can take the time to read my email, respond to my email, and follow up on an inquiry. Just imagine how well the rest of the company is probably running. I have not yet recieved an email back from the CEO however I also do not own VZW stock.

I work for a publicly traded company (not as large as VZW, but large enough). I while back, a colleague of mine fired an employee (for VERY valid reasons). But the employee then went on to harrass all of our offices throughout the state, trying to get paid for 2 hours of work that he didn't work ($20). After months of getting nowhere with harrassing individual offices, he managed to get ahold of the CEO's phone number. Not only did he get directly to the CEO, but the CEO agreed to pay him the $20 (that he wasn't entitled to). All this because the CEO was afraid of a PR snafu and was uninformed on the actual issue.

See, the thing is, *everybody* wants to write the CEO when there's a problem. So it's highly unlikely that a CEO will actually be able to mail you anthing becuase his job has *nothing* to do with customer service.

The CEO taking time out of his busy life to message *just* *you* is a created illusion.

What happens is that a CEO has one or more executive secretaries to filter out all of the CEO's communications. These secretaries generally do have more autonomy than your average customer support worker. It's likely the case that your letter reached the secretary and "penned" the letter for you.

Now, as far as you and your customer service...

Indeed, I agree it is probably a waste of time. However it is a small ammount of time and ,after reading this forum for the past month or so I don't see how it could hurt. Since no one can get decent info anyway.

The best thing to do is to go to an operating manager or a network operator. Those people are usually more dedicated and involved, plus they have more power that a stupid CS Rep. The people who test the phones, and tell the board of directors their opinions and results from testing are the ones you want to target. Although they're "sworn to secracy", many consider their job a hobby as well as an employment opportunity and will gladly inform an enthusiast of the like.
