does a sales rep or any one else in a VZW corporate store have the authority to push up my new every 2 date to use it on this phone if if comes before my NE2 date of august 10th? Some one said they might, but I want some one else that knows.

Thanks

You can get the NE2 after 22 months of a 2 year contract. From what I've read that's pretty much all they will do for you.

Well, in 2002 - my 22 months was April 25th, 2002 for New Every 2 but the v60c rebate expired on April 21st, 2002 so the store called and got approval when I wanted to buy the v60c on April 15th, 2002.

It is all about manager's discretion. I would not do it, but I'm sure some manager out there would. They key is this. If you are allowed to get a $100 credit towards the 2 Year price of a phone even a DAY before the NE2 date, the store takes a discounting hit and gets NO credit for the contract you sign. In a word that is simply INSANE. I would allow you to upgrade early with no problem(no $100 credit though), but I would be very strict with the NE2.

Hmm, not too sure because the rep did call by phone and talked for 15 minutes and then got the approval and I did get the $100 credit but that's probably because I've been a VZW customer longer than most people and on a National Single Rate. So I think as long as they get the approval, the store shouldn't get hit since someone higher up authorized it. I think if they needed to hit someone, they should really hit the person that approved it on the phone. Maybe the other reason was because I got my friend to sign up with VZW too so I actually got an extra $25 referral credit on my statement as well.

The store and the sales rep performing the upgrade receive commission based on the upgrade ONLY if you are twenty-two months into your 2 YR contract. If they upgrade you one day outside of that period then they don't get paid. That's what I mean when I say the store takes a hit but receives no credit for the upgrade. I mean they can upgrade people early all day long if they want, but pretty soon Verizon would be just like AT&T...broke.

Just call Cust Care, and beg a little, tell them to note the account.

Interesting. But since it was someone higher up in corporate that approved it, shouldn't they still get the credit? AT&T is different than Verizon though since AT&T has been failing ever since the 1984 breakup.

any customer service rep can approve an upgrade at any time; there are however guidlines we should follow; i.e. 2 months bofore contract end date etc

Yeah, I know what you mean but if the salesperson actually called to get the approval which is pretty much like a manual authorization from someone higher up, they shouldn't really hit the store or the salesperson as someone higher up approved it.
