Take a look at the ultra-thin phone Motorola just announced today....sorry folks it's GSM.

Bonorific who's been a very reliable source on Wireless Advisor posted these this morning.

Wow. Gonna be awhile before we see that.

It's called the "Razor". Mr. Ed Zander was waving it around like nothing at our intern conference this summer when it was supposedly super duper top secret. I couldn't see it real well from in back, but WOW!

Aside from the market size (much larger for GSM) and demand, Is there any rational reason that a CDMA phone couldn't be that small? Is the circuitry inherently more bulky? (OK -- Stop that snickering!)

Jumping Jebus on a pogo stick! That's hawt.

Maybe by the time it comes out a GSM market will actually have decent reception. I mean, it would be nice to have a phone that works just as well in the states as when we travel abroad.

😁 Looks really impressive...and the last time I read about a prototype called the Razor 'twas the Palm V/Vx and I was pretty jazzed aboot that one as well.

Then again, with a phone that thin, and with even half the features of a V710, I'm guessing that bad boy will feature a usable battery life of oh, say, about 12 minutes 😉 So all of us non-GSM'ers can breathe a sigh of relief and (falsely) be content to know that this phone is vaporware until we (pant pant pant) see someone using one on the street. 😎

And another thing...mebbe it's me, but the add-on dongle which enables you to charge (pic or two on the mobile review site) sort-of worries me; my V60 (and a friend's 720) are both pains in the ass to charge, because after 12 months of nightly charging, the phone sometimes gives me a "Unable to Charge" message, and other times just doesn't want to deal with the plug/connection at all. Could you imagine how happy you'd be if you were halfway around the world (or at least in Dover, Delaware) and lost that little dongle-thingy?

That'd make me very happy 😉

Okay, so I'd leave the dongle connected to the charger and not loose in my pocket...I'm just trying to find anything to make it so I'm not so jealous of GSM'ers (or people in Dove...
