good job to verizon for taking so long to release the damn v710 ... now that everyone has a glimpse of the v3 ...im sure a fair amount of people are having doubts as i see from everyones comments here and on hofo ... just want to wait to see what the coverage is like when cingular finishes merging with att .... which by the way ... does anyone know when?

😉 According to RadioShack.com which now has the V710 on its website . . . you can order your V710 from any store and have it delivered for free. Better yet the Verizon site is down so maybe the V710 will be on the site by tomorrow morning. Prob not, but at least the V710 is on RadioShack's site. PCE

The rep I spoke to said you can order it now over the phone or come in on Sat and pick it up (hopefully). Either way, it seems all the waiting is finally over and this phone will be here in our hands within 7 days.

SAN FRANCISCO, July 26 - Starting next year, users of Apple Computer's iTunes music service will be able to play songs on some Motorola cellphones, the companies said late Monday.

The agreement is the first for the cellular phone industry, which is eager to add functions to phones to bring in additional revenue.

Just stopped by Radioshack on 44th and 5th Ave and talked to Chuck K about the v710. Go in there and ask him whats up. I just pre-ordered mine, said they should be in soon.

The search tool on this site leaves much to be desired, so here is the question. Assume I am using Bluetooth to connect to my Pocket PC or Laptop and have a data session going. Can I still receive voice calls on the handset. Really, really cool would be for both to be supported at the same time via Bluetooth....

first...I tried the RS way today, i spoke to 5 different people some in the store and some at 800 the shack, i was told by 3 out 5 people that the $80 for the overnight will be refunded.. when i called at the end of the day to get my tracking number, the rep told me that even though i placed the order there is no tracking # because the order will not be filled, according to her mgr phones cannot be ordered outside of the store.. i guess I'll find out Tuesday!!

Does anyone know if the Motorola V710 is based on the Qualcomm chip?

If it is, it might work with BitPim to browse the file system which includes and overwrite feature. This is how I was transferring ring tones and picture to and from the phone when I had the LG VX7000...

Just spent the last 2 hours with the 710 and it is quite nice.

Pros:
The thing that scared me the most was that MOto was going to blow it on the Voice Quality and I am totally wrong.. The Voice Quality is very good.

The Screen is huge and speakerphone is really nice and can be left on permanently. You can make calls from speaker mode no problem.

The messaging is great.

Overall I am quite impressed. Battery seems to be good.

Reception is awesome - We put it up against the LG7000 and in our test fringe areas the Moto was great and the LG7000 dropped calls like crazy.


Cons:
HEadset Rubber cover is crappy and in the way.

Earpiece sound level at full volume is not loud enough ( Samsung is much louder ). It's jus...

im on a family plan with my pops and brother... we updated to a new 2 year contract on july 16th and i wanted to give my 7000 back by friday cuz thats when RS was supposed to have their 710s in.... if i were to return my 7000 back to the verizon store could i then go to the RS u work at and get it for $249.99?? They have it for $449 with no contract and free shipping. My guess is that they won't charge you sales tax unless you're located in one of the states where they have a distribution center which according to their "About us" page is Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, Nevada, Iowa, Indiana, and California but who knows maybe they won't charge sales tax in any state.
