I work in the Oakland NJ RadioShack as many of you know. If you want the v710 feel free to come to the store on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between the hours of 7pm and 9pm and i will help you order the v710. the store # is 201-337-3909. If you come at a time i am not here i breifed my co-workers on the v710 deal.

is the wall charger and the car charger the same as the v60s,is the port the same???

Not sure if I should believe him or not, but a friend who works in network development for Vzw said they were given the order today to activate "ESN compatability" for the NY metro market for about 10,000 V710's. He also said that they already activated about 250 ESN's for "In Store Demo Units" on Friday and that most of those phones became active over the weekend. My guess would be that they have already shipped to the stores or are about to. Can any Vzw sales reps comment?

It appears that Radio Shack is releasing the phone on July 28th. Everyone who has claimed to have ordered the phone is through RS and expect it on Wed. (The 28th). Anyone agree/disagree/indifferent?

All of you gys that ordered the phone from RS,
and promised to have the phone Wenesday. Have you received a tracking # and verify the status of your order (not from RS).

Just went to the RS at Ansley Mall...I gave the guy the SKU, he said he didn't think it was available but the order took, and I should have it by Wednesday. 😁

Whats the real advantage to buying the v710 at Radio Shack? It appears Radio Shack will be getting the phone sooner, but are the phones at radio shack more expensive? Besides, can you service your phone at a Verizon store if you get your V710 at Radio Shack? Are small Radio Shack stores as willing as Verizon retailers to replace your phone if its not working well?

I bought the phone, but I don't think its worth $80.00 to get it four days earlier. So I paid $519.99 with free shipping and also ordered the 128mb transflash card and the HS820 on ther same ticket of course with my discount I spent about $594 for all three items and will see it Friday if all goes good.

Anyone know how much this phone would cost when signing a new contract (1 or 2 year) at verizon?

I would like to purchase the following accessories for the v710:
USB SD Card reader SYN1045
Bluetooth Headset HS820
Transflash Memory Card SYN0943
I can get them all on the Motorola website and considering I order all 3 I get free shipping. The memory card is overpriced in a big way but the free shipping almost offsets the cost of purchasing cheaper elsewhere and paying for shipping. Is there anywhere else I can get all 3 items at the same place. Seems like the savings on the memory card could be about $30. I am not really interested in ordering from 3 different places if I can help it. Any Help? 🙂

Even though this is the only bluetooth phone that Verizon will currently have I'm not sure it is worth the money. It seems that the only way to buy this phone is with NE2 and a rebate. At this point with the GSM competition catching up it does not make sense to sign up for 2 more years. If you look at the competition you can get a bluetooth phone for a much more reasonable price and the plans are the same or cheaper also.

So I woke up early today and made sure I was outside the door of Radio Shack when it opened so I could order this phone immediately. And woo hoo I got it. I signed a new 2 year contract earlier this summer so I was in no way eligible for any special promo or anything so it wasn't worth waiting for VZW to get this phone. (When I stopped into the VZW on Rockville Pike, even the manager was clueless about this phone) But the guys at RS were great. If anyone in the area wants to order it from RS, I definitely recommend going to this one:
