LED flash as a Light???

Does anyone know if the LED flash can manually be turned on without taking a picture so it could be used as a light also?

we should be the ones getting paid........

For all the talk and advertising that goes on in this forum, we should get paid to buy the damn phone and not have to buy it ourselves! it cost companies millions to advertise products, but yet we are doing their work for them. Just thought i would post my opinion

All of you that pre-ordered the V710, where is the tracking # confirming shipment and delivery date? Not some promised from RS telling you that its going to be shipped today.

Phone Available at RS Stores

On this site:

http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?ca talog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=17-1971#

It says that it is available in stores as of 7-26-04..and to call for verification.

I'm going to call a RS store nearby and see if this is true.

Similer to the new v3

Like the looks of the V3 then check out the Samsung MP3D. Its on the Wirless Imports website. Costs a bit of money but it works on VZW's system.

NE2 at Radioshack

Just called CS at VZW and there is no way they will give you a NE2 credit unless you buy it from them(online, phone, or in store)

I asked if I bought at RS and sent in my receipt will they give me the NE2 credit. The answer was a resounding...NO. That came from the initial CS rep and then the manager.

There ya have it.

I can wait another week. That way I'll have the extra $100 to spend on beer and broads in Bayonne.

NE2 Expires after 6 months!!!

if you dont use your new every two credit within 6 mos after you have had your phone for 2 years, you will NOT have this credit anymore. BEfore this phone comes out, you may want to call to make sure your credit is still good (if you have it). Mine was not, the checked my past billing (I'm a very long term Bell Atlantic, er, i mean Verizon Wireless customer and I have had nasty bills) and they reinstated my NE2 credit.

Just a heads up to make sure your "ducks are in a row" so to speak before you run out expecting to save $100 on this phone.

Solution for all the RS doubters (will they have it inhand by...)

A few people ordered it monday, and got it overnighted. with that said, they will be recieving it either today, or tomorrow.

so "IF" they do recieve it today or tomorrow, that will answer the dicussion below about "will the customers will actually have the phone in hand before it is available for verizon" problem.

My guess is they will, considering they give an overnight shipping option. I think if the warehouse didnt have the phone, and it wasnt available yet...they would not give that option. they would probably only give a ground shipping option...so they can take their sweet ass time.

Im considering getting my phone from RS, the only thing that is holding me back is my 20% corporate discount (which is $100 when I buy this pho...

Bad News...

for AWS/Cingular...

Verizon has bolstered its wireless division to maintain profits as customers drop regular telephone lines for cellular phones or switch to competitors. Verizon Wireless added 1.5 million customers in the quarter, raised its average monthly revenue per user to $50.80, and reduced customer turnover, or churn, to 1.45 percent.

Loop Capital analyst William Cram said the wireless results were "very strong," especially compared to results from Cingular Wireless, which is in the midst of buying AT&T Wireless (AWE) to form the largest U.S. cellular company.

With Verizon adding 860,000 customers per quarter, more than Cingular and AT&T Wireless combined over the past five quarters, "at this pace Verizon could organically ...

Radioshack and the V710

I know orders are "going through" but I am still skeptical that it will be available this week in stores. I won't believe it until I see a customer with one in hand.

I am guessing both Verizon and RS will have them on sale "in stores" next week.

Only time will tell. Regardless I am waiting for Verizon so I can use my NE2 and get it for $150 instead of $250.

For flyiance2000

In your previous posts, you mention about purchasing the phone directly through the RS fullfiment and, then returning the phone and then re-ringing it back up to get the phone at the discounted price.
My question to you, is that if the sale begins on the 30th of this month, would you be able to go to a local RS on the 31st, and have them order the phone at the activated price, or would you still have to go to the re-ringing as you described.
Thanks much in advance.
