20 Mins of owning the v7101!!
😕 7/31/04 I purchased the v710 after the RS employee went through hell to hold the phone for me! Instead of feeling overwhelmed with joy, I felt like I made a huge mistake. I didn't get my ne2 which I thought I would get. i felt like I shoulda waited after i bought the phone. So I took the phone back after around 20 mins of owning it and talking on it. Don't get me wrong, the phone is awesome and I can't wait to get it back! But ne2 just sounds so gooooooddddddd!!!!!!

How did you figure (especially after reading thse posts) that you would get NE2 from a Rat Shack store. Was never going to happen! DOOOOH!

RS gave it to me. My plane was over Sep 11, 04 and I called Verizon and said I found the V710 at RS and I would LOVE to get this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me out of my contract a little early and I will re-sign right now for 2 yrs, girl was GREAT she did and said just tell the RS people to check your record I put in document ion and u will get it, I got there and I got it 🙂

The OFFICIAL Radio Shack corporate policy is NOT to honor New Every Two. In fact, most of the RS's I visited considered the "Upgrade Price with 2 Year Contract ($319)" to be the NE2 discount!
So they answer YES, we do NE2, but in fact, all they are doing is the same old upgrade pricing found at a verizon store. They thought the two year discount of $200 was the promo. When I told them about the additional #100 off, most of them either looked at me stupid, or knowingly smiled and said nope, or asked ME for more info on how it worked.
It has been well documented now (here and at howard) that NE2 is officially valid through a verizon outlet only - such as their website OR a retail outlet. Those of you who GOT their NE2 credit through Ra...

What the salesman at my local RS tried telling me is that their price is NE2 and that the NE2 price is the 2-year price. After explaining that it is up to $100 of a new phone in addition to the 2-year contract price, he said that they didn't do that. I got the impression that he was aware of the NE2 discount (maybe he was, maybe he wasn't -- just an impression). I wonder if there's a RS forum somewhere with posts like "I can't believe our customers think we should give them an extra $100 off their phone". 🤣
