Mobile Phone Tools 2.0 - Multimedia Center?

hello all,

I have successfully installed the mobile phone tools and can see my V710. Calendar and Contacts are working fine....however, there seems to be no way to download songs, pics, etc to the Media Center. The "Multimedia" icon is not available.

Has anyone got this working or is the only way to get this accomplised is with the transflash card and a USB SD card reader?

Thanks in advance!

Believe Verizon has asked Motorola to disable this feature. Note on the Motorola web site that it specifically notes that the Multimedia Center feature may not be available at the Carrier's Request.

It seems that Verizon wants us to pay to send ourselves the photos using their GetItNow service. Only other way currently to tranfer photos is by using the optional Transflash memory card, removing it from the phone and inserting it in its sheeth and then into a SD reader.

Feature is present in the software package and will work on some phones.

Most likely the v710's firmware has been modified by Motorola to disable that file transfer capability to meet Verizon's marketing needs.

I think it is a very poor decision by Verizon and will negatively impact phone sales. Read the recent PC Magazine article on the v710 (referenced on this Forum) -- it describes the same problem you did and scolds them for it.

😳 Very interesting....
When I called Moto Software to ask about MPT and the upgrade to 3.0, the tech told me that one of the major efforts has been to get the Multimedia Center to work with the V710. Hmmmmm.....

Come on everybody, we all know Verizon/Moto screwed the buyers with this phone by taking the media center off Mobile Phone Tools on this phone. Not just for BT for for the stupid little cable.

If everybody who asked "where's the media center" on this board, got on the phone and on the e-mail to customer support at Moto and VZ maybe they will realize that they can't tout a product that doesnt have ALL the features it shud.

Come on.....I've sent my e-mails and letters....the addresses are on howard forums and
right on your Moto and Verizon support centers.

This is B.S.
