Motorola V710

Where does one get this elusive transflash card? Verizon doesn't sell it. How much should it cost?

whenever i close my phone the other screen goes off also along with the inside one (the inside one really doesnt matter). but i'de like to leave the outer one on at all times. ive turned off battery save, display timeout, and all that stuff, is it even possible to leave the outer one at all times? it still always turns off with these options changed. thanks

Has anyone recived the following errors? If so, how can I fix them?

When trying to access the camera I get "Picture Capture Failed" and when I try to access the Video Camera I get "System error."

Does anyone happen to know where i can find an actul case for the v710 that is made for the damn phone?. everywhere i look, they only have "pouches", nothing that fits it's dimensions. I would really like a custom case to prevent the phone from getting scratched, so any help would be greatly appreciated

i want this phone and to be able to use the camera but i dont want to pay for pic messaging. Is there a way to transfer pics to my pc?

Is it safe to do it without shortening battery life? The manual doesn't say yes or no.

I have been following the V710 threads & discussions since before the V710 was released. I was looking for a high-end phone with bluetooth and some limited PDA functionality (PIM type stuff, calendar, appointments, contacts, etc.)

The V710 seemed to be just the ticket and I waited for it... My bad! As we all know now, Verizon "crippled" the bluetooth by leaving the file transfer functions out and limiting it to headset operations... This according to the salespeople I talked to at Verizon. Of course, Motorola is not blameless in this and I noticed that the keypad was falling off of the demo model in the store. Talk about horrible build quality (what were you thinking Moto?). does any1 know if quicktime pro can play ANY dvdrip files that are avi and have a xvid codec cuz i cant get virtual dub to keep running cuz it keeps freezing while trying to compress a movie.... any1 know of an easier way to get movies on the phone than the methods suggested on

I have a 710 and i cant figure out how to get MP3 ringtones on my phone, because it says the phone is included with mp3 but i cant figure it out. Cause i want to actually hear the real song with words when my phone rings. My friends phone has it, but he has sprint. Is sprint the only company that has the real ringtones.
Or does anyone kow of any websites i can get this from?

Ok guys, I've been a lurker here since back when the phone was to be "released" in may, so needless to day I've been along for most of the ride here at phonescoop. I too purchased the phone on the first day, and I too have encountered the following problems:

1. Phone scratching itself.
2. Screen will go black and I receive a no service inticator while on mobile web.
3. The bezel around my camera fell off.

And do you know what happened when I actually went into the verizon store? They said sorry to hear that, and they promptly replaced my phone, even after the 15 day worry free guarantee period. Verizon doing the right thing? Yea, they're pretty good in my experience. Don't make it out to be so sinister, they're not trying to pull on...

Okay so then, just to catch up - if I need to transfer data between the phone and the computer, I need the data cable and MobilePhone Tools 2.0? If I buy these, then can I synch my Outlook calendar and contacts with my phone?

Ok... I got 2 questions. Any and all help would be appreciated.

- I know people have had free WAP working. However, currently, everytime I try to connect to a free WAP gateway (ie. http://wap.crjt.net/ or http://www.waptunnel.com/) the phone says that my connection timed out. Does anyone currently have free WAP working? If so, how did you do it?

- Did anyone buy VZW Mobile Office with their phone. According to

you can use Mobile Office to get internet on a laptop and pay only for call time. Has anyone tried this? Does it work???

Overriding the bluetooth software is a big issue, and if anyone is able to write some sort of software that can be downloaded that we can all download to override the blutooth so that we can all transfer files back and forth.. the man who does this needs to be bowed to. THANKS

I have a bluetooth hands-free car kit in my Lincoln LS that I use with my V710. After some effort, I finally got everything adjusted so that the it works pretty good - except for one big problem. The phone will not ring when I have an incoming call. If I happen to notice the outside display on my phone when a call comes in, then I can open the phone and take the call. Even when I visually see the call come in though, I still can't accept it with the button on my hands-free car kit. Once I accept the call with the phone, then it works normally through my bluetooth car kit with the sound coming through the car's speakers.

I have fiddled with all the settings at menu-settings-car settings, and nothing I set it on will make the phone wor...

Is there a way to make the pics u take with the camera actually "fit to the screen" without it being all pixelated and actually BIGGER than it should be.... they dont fit to screen with this option at all??? Anybody can help... or is this just the way it is? Thanks
