Motorola V710

😡 I just subscribed to Verizon and purchased a V710. I also upgraded my T-Mobile phone from a SonyEricsson T68i to a Moto V600.

Motorola has a lot to learn about bluetooth. The V710 is limited to the headset and handsfree profiles. The V600 has OBEX, but does a lousy job at implementation. I have a Toyota Prius, and the V600 can only transfer one phone number at a time. The V710 cannot transfer anything. The V600 also does not include data account profiles like SonyEricsson.

Upside of Motorola - reception. Both phones do a good job.

Hopefully Motorola will come out with some much needed software updates for their phones.

Has Anyone had their side keys stop working? I don't know if I locked them somehow or if they are just not working, but the rest of the phone seems fine. Side keys don't work when it is open or closed. Any thoughts. THanks.

has anyone been able to sync up their v710 with their computer yet? I just figured that since it had Bluetooth, I'd be able sync using that, but I have been finding out otherwise. Can anyone shed some light here? I would like to specifically sync with Outlook 2003, just like I do with my Nokia 6620 via Bluetooth. I ordered some Mobile Office kit for $39 at Verizon today, so we'll see how that goes. It comes with the wire and the software. It would be great if I could just use the software with the Bluetooth connection.

I have just looked at my account and it seems Verizon charged me for 8 ringtone downloads from www.fotobin.com (that are free) and to top it off it shows up on my bill as picture messages received, I called Verizon and had the normal think as a brick technician SHOUTING down the phone to me that I should not download ring tones that are not part of the Get It Now money spinner.

Be careful Verizon really do have a customer service problem and they should take a closer look at how cell technology works in Europe and Asia to learn a few things.

It seems Siemens is having a recall because of a similar issue. I know this week alone I have my own ears pierced by my motorola. As far as I know all motorolas with the current menu style do this.

So how's this for battery efficiency? I was stting in a dark room last week, and noticed that when I closed my phone, there was still light coming out from the screen. If I "peek through the crack" as I close the phone, I notice the image on the screen disappears and the screen just goes white (or gray or blue, not sure). Anyway, it stays on until the outer screen turns off. Is this a bug? Anyone else see this behavior? Is there a fix?

On some other services I've used, there was a feature where you could press a button to reject the incoming call. Does that exist on this phone/service?

Also, I was able to block certain numbers from calling my phone - it doesn't appear Verizon supports this.

I don't see any way to change the display/format of the outer screen (the screen visible outside, when the phone is closed).

I'd like to change the wallpaper, etc.

For that matter, is there a FAQ on these issues maintained anywhere...

I have been unable to get any tones to my phone via vzwpix.com or through any other email client so I resorted to contacting Verizon for help. Tech support said only via Get It Now is this possible. Said you guys are just saying you did it! LOL

So once and for all, can any one explain what I need to do to get tones to my phone. All I get is a text message that I have a a message at vzwpix.com and I need to go there to view.

i have purchased the sd/mcc memory card for my motorola v710 and i can save pictures on the card from my phone, ☹️ but i cannot open the file on my comuter due to an input/output error. so i need to find the downloadable driver to format the driver on my computer. if any one has any info on the driver or where i could find a download for it let me know.

Has anyone gotten the "send later" feature to work on the v710 text message for a delay on sending the text message.

Can i download games using the transflash card? and how do i do it? if so what are some sites that i could do this on.

I keep my phones for usually about 2 years or more. Ive had my v60c since it came out until I got the v710 and had a startac before the v60. The hype surrounding this phone was fun, and I expected a decent phone to do what a phone should do, make good calls. It does this great, however, I paid a lot of money for a phone that doesn't really doesnt do the other things its supposed to do very well at all.

Who to blame?

I recently returned my V710 to Verizon because incoming calls would not ring through when my phone was paired with my bluetooth car kit. They gave me a new phone and, sure enough, all incoming calls ring through fine now. But now I have a new problem: this new V710's reception is nowhere near is good as my last V710. I can't honestly say that the phone's reception is bad - it's just kind of average. But the reception on my last V710 was truly exceptional. In fringe areas where other Verizon users couldn't use their phone, mine worked great. With this new V710, I now have the same reception problems as everyone else.

Have you other V710 users experienced exceptional reception, or just good reception? I'm wondering if I should ask Ve...

Does anyone know how to unlock the features Verizon locks down on this phone. The file transfer and sync calendar and contacts via Bluetooth? Verizon locks these features to sell you on the send picture option and sync cable. What is up with that! 😡

that's $360...not too bad considering a lot of the features are not working so far. I am not having any luck with its 'pda' features but the phone calls work. Maybe I am being too harsh but I'm starting to get frustrated.
