Motorola V710

Here it goes:

I'm using a full transflash and 45 minute playlist at 128 kb. No problems.
Playback through a generic stereo headphone w/4 pole adapter.

I go to the gym, load my playlist, hit "hide" and shut the clamshell.

Being the considerate guy I am, I don't want a ringing phone to distract my fellow excercisers, so I change the ring mode from "Vibrate& Ring" to just Vibrate.

Guess what? after one song, the music dies.
Same for setting the phone on "Silent"

Don't ask why it's like this....maybe it isnt if you use the official 24.00 moto headphone/mics...

Does anyone know what the difference is between the speech coder optcodes? Which is better enhanced full or loopback?

I tried to listen to mp3's from my transflash on my Jabra 250 but it just kept beeping at me. Is it impossible to listen over a bluetooth headset or am I just missing something? Thanks, Jen

this dialup networking is awesome.

I don't know what I will be billed for it though!!! I never signed up for it but it works like a charm.

Whenever i try to do this the image on my computer comes out huge, grainy, and looks horrible.

Is there a way to send it and have it look as it looks on the phone?

I haven't checked this forum in awhile so if this has already been discussed i apologize. For the last week or so I haven't been able to receive any mp3's or pictures thru vzwpix.com. Is everyone else experiencing this as well or is it just me?

I had been Motorola all the way until last year when I got the LG VX6000. I remember at the time saying ... wow this is so much better than Motorola. Since they I seem to have forgotten what was so bad about my Motorola v60i, and I am considering the V710.

I went to a Verizon store yesterday and played around with the demo they had. I have to say I was revisited with a number of Motorola legacy problems that have me doubting the phone. 🙄

Before I even started playing I did a full reset on the phone settings and powered it off and on. I could not do a battery yank with the security cord though.

Does anyone know how long the phone rings until it goes to voice mail. All my friends are still sleeping and I don't want to wake them to test it out.

OK I found that my T720 will work for the V710
I have also found out that PST 4.9 will not read the phone book or change any info on the phone.. pretty much useless.... how ever I will be recieving PST 6.9.2 my question is does anyone know if this is the current version that is supporting the V710... I know it supports the V600.. The main reason I am doing this is just for the ability to find out if VZW just blocked out the some bluetooth proticals or if MOTO really never even added them... Anyways please if you have any info I could use just email it to me at [email protected] and I will keep the forum up to date with my progress

I've had the phone for a week now and notice the screen is a bit grundgy, I guess from ear contact?

i bought the v710 on aug 11th but i scratched it, so yesterday i went back and gave them so bs excuse about how the phone turns off and stuff lol and they believed me and so they gave me a new v710

only problem is this, its ****** used!!!! im not stupid, the phone is ****** used...number 1, there is a big squeak when you open it which almost caused me to go back and get me original phone back because its so damn annoying...number 2, the rubber that covers the tf slot and headphone slot is all wrinkled and bent which means its been opened and used before...number 3, the plastic that covers the screen was not on it, and the plastic they had on the outside had all air bubbles on it, which means it was taken off and then verizon attempted to ...

I really love this phone, but I can't believe they disabled the bluetooth. I have a bluetooth USB adapter on my laptop. The only bluetooth feature that works is auto/voice dialing through the computer.

I want to be able to sync with Outlook address book on my computer. I was hoping to transfer all my phone numbers from my old phone. I went to the VZN store (few weeks ago)and they don't even have the ability to transfer the number to this phone yet.

I read a lot of talk about either Motorola released this phone to early OR Verizon made them disable some features.

I got the phone at Radio Shack a week before Verizon released it. If there is an update, will Radio Shack have the same flash update? Does anyone know when?

I'm looking into the VOX 9900 and Verizon is being ifie about the release date. (It's at the 7th of Sept. right now, but we're all skeptical.)

I'm looking into this phone as a back-up if the 9900 doesn't come out on the 7th. What's wrong with the camera? Does it work and look well if the flash is used? How much is the cost with a 2-year agreement? I am up for my $100 re-newing thingie, and was wondering if I qualify for the Mail In Rebate also along with the 2-year contract price. So, if I do the math right it should come out to be $100 or so?

Can someone help me out? I don't know which one to go for. I want to hear more about the camera on this phone! 🙄

i would just like to say i have never owned a phone with this many problems with this many lies. i mean, i was soooo excited to get this phone yesterday, but to my dismay i read:

1.) headset sound isn't loud enough for A LOT of people

2.) BT can't transfer to PCs, what's the dealio?

3.) camera sux balls as all the pictures are dark

4.) the mp3 capability is just a major let down

5.) lot of failures on other miscellaneous stuff

I really hope to God that motorola fixes all of our issues with updates. I've never had updates to a phone so i think it's kinda weird. I think i might have rushed into buying this phone. ugh.
