does anyone know how long it usually takes to get the rebate sent back in the mail??

Phone activation
If I purchase a v710 on ebay or from a private party, what are my options for getting my current verizon number transferred to the new phone? Are there any charges for activating the phone?
Also, if there is a software upgrade over the next month, is it still available to those phone owners that did not purchase the phone from verizon?

wallpaper dissapears
this was happening to me the other day. I had one of the pre-loaded wallpapers set on my phone. Problem was if I turned off the phones power, the wallpaper was gone when I powered it back on. 😡 It was just a plain white screen like when I first powered on the phone.

v710 Questions (message alert, front-screen, transflash)
Is there a way to disable or alter the annoying "BEEP" voicemail-waiting alert. I looked in the menus, and can't find it.
Also: how do you change the funky wallpaper of the outer screen? Can't find an option for that, either.
Finally, is any store out there actually -carrying- the transflash card(s)? I called TigerDirect and they say it's no longer available.

Reported memory size on transflash too small.
I have the 128mb transflash card and have formatted it in the phone multiple times. I've successfully transferred both mp3's and pictures to and from the card using an XP pc.
Here's the question...
The phone reports the size on the mmc card is 3164kb. This is not possible as I have 68mb of data on it!
Any ideas?

FREE HS810 Got it today
Just to let people know, I did not get a email that I won, but I did get the Hs810 today, Its not in the retail package just the user guide and headset no charger. It came from young america. Its all ways good to have a spare, since I bought one with the phone, now I am just short one charger.

Just got my free HF Speaker!
Nice... I now have plenty of options when I want to use the phone. It comes with a lanyard loop, so I can wear it (not that I would...).
It certainly does address the issue of not being able to use the speakerphone feature while the phone is closed.

1)Anyone figure out how to change the outer LCD Background?
2)I subscribed to mobile web 2.0 and I can't log on it say network down. Anyone having the same issue?
3)is there anyway I can use the pics saved on my TF card as caller ID pics with out moving them into phone memory?
4) I had the T720 and I have motorola PST loaded on my PC will this work with the V710?

V710 vs. 9900
I just saw the demo phone for the 9900 and it's coming out soon. This was an OH store. Maybe not the most stylish phone, but you have to put the V710 in the leather case anyway, so who sees it.
I would like to hear how the V710 is on the following:
Battery Life:
Outlook Sync:
Bluetooth dial up speed (not sure if I will need this)
9900 looks to have an awesome batter and great internal screen.

So Verizon’s excuse for not making it possible to use the built-in Bluetooth on their new Motorola V710 cameraphone to transfer files over to or sync with a PC? That it’s a "fraud prevention" tactic to keep hackers from Bluejacking your phone. We’re sure they’re telling the truth and that it has nothing to do with making money off of subscribers by charging them extra to email photos rather than just copy them directly to a PC.

This is hilarious! I usually read these threads but very rarely comment on them. but this is to funny not to say something!
The moron who took his phone back because he scratched it and then had it replaced with a fru wants to sue verizon!! that is the funniest freaking thing i ever read and i'm glad that many of you feel the same! i have to agree that this moron should "get his genes out of the pool" as was stated by someone else here.

I ordered a 128MB transflash card (for $39) and an HS-810 headset ($74). I got the package today, and included was the transflash card BUT they sent me the HS-820 ($69 on the sellers website). Now I don't know what to do. I kind of wanted the HS-810 cuz I had already tried it on and liked it. They gave me an offer. Either send it back to them, or get a $10 refund. Which do I do? I'm not sure if I'm going to like the HS-820, but of those who have it, is it any good?
