Day 15 - The Final Day

Well, to all those who purchased a V710 at VZW on the very first day, waiting with the store crowds for an hour, being obsessed with getting the V710 now, we reach Thursday, 8/26, the final decision day for keeping the phone or throwing it back.

After 15 long days of living with the V710, playing, testing, weighing the good and the not so good, and after reading the many reviews and helpful posts, a decision must be made.

I conclude (your opinion may vary) that the V710 is currently VZW's best. Lots of features, most of which work pretty well. Most importantly, as a phone, mine works very well ... sound quality, reception & analog ability. I'm keeping it 🙂

Here's to a long V710 life (hopefully well past the 1 year warranty)!...

AOL Internet PDA combo

Today I tried to get the Gomadic to work with my Dell PDA and the v710...Frustration. The phone never was able to talk to the PDA. So far, I have tried every setting I can think og. There does not seem to be any setting on the phone to use it as a modem. Of course, any advice is welcome. What is personally frustrating to me is that I could get my old phone to work just fine ☚ī¸

Bluetooth Headset Turns off Handset Ringer

I went online and bitched to both Verizon & Motorola Customer support about the fact that the handset ringer & vibrate turns off when BT is paired. Maybe if enough of us do this they will come up with a SW or Firmware solution. I have seen one mention in the forum that someone heard Moto is working on a fix, but that is the only indication I have seen. I spoke w/ multiple Moto cust support people and none of them said anything about Moto working on it. They just said that was how the phone worked.

HS810 Problem

I have the HS810 BT headset and have a problem. When I am talking to someone on it they say that when they talk they can hear an echo of themselves. If I go back to the phone it goes away. I tried this on my home phone and they are right. If I turn the headset volume down it is not as noticable, but then I have a hard time hearing them. It gets to be annoying for people I am calling. It's wierd because they sound perfect to me. Has anyone else had this problem? Could it just be a defective headset?

Voice Note question...

Hey guys. I'm a long-time reader, but this is my first post on this board. I've read a lot on this and other forums, but I haven't seen any mention of the voice note feature at all.

I had the T730/720 for a while and used the voice note feature all the time, both with and without my Jabra bluetooth headset (with adapter). I'm good at forgetting things, so the voice note feature was very handy. The V710 also has the voice note feature, I think they call it voice record, which I've used, but I do have a problem trying to leave a voice note through my head set. I had the Jabra 200 with adapter for my T730, but I now have the 250 for my V710.

Anyway... here's the problem. If I leave the voice note through the headset, when I go to ...

I finally got my HS820.. I do think it looks REAL BULKY on the ear.. but newayz.. have a question

It should be just a TAD louder. but i guess i'll live with it.. and geez. its annoyin for the woman to hear me say NAME.... and it took me FOREVER to get her to understand Jose.. I actually had to spell it Hosay... retarded lol.. newayz.. When you leave it alone for 5 minutes, i know that the led light stops blinking. So that means its in standby mode? Which is still wasting battery correct? Also everytime i shut it off and turn it back on, i have to go thru the connection process thru the phone every time? Cuase that can get annoying. please let me know if you can. Is Jabra 250 so much better than this one?

Pocket Computer? Bluetooth! Anyone hear of this?

Hi,

I was looking around today to see what types of cases were available for the v710, and under one sites compatable accs. they listed this.

http://www.pocketsurfer.net/ »

Kinda a cool idea, like a PDA but a wide screen similar to old school windows CE devices.

What does anyone think of this?

Battery Meter goes 6, 4, 2, 0

Anyone notice that the battery display (the details shown in the phone status menu / battery meter) will go from 6 to 4 to 2 to 0. On my phone it always skips level 5,3,& 1.

They added the stereo headset to the v710 compatible list.

Is the one for the MPx200 and this one the same?

If you were lucky enough like I was to be one of the first 710 to register your phone with motorola you should be recieving your headset any day now. I live in St. Louis and got mine today. Be on the lookout! 😁

Downloading xringer from GIN

I can't find or download the demo for Xringer from GIN to sample ringtones for purchase. I could only find the Modtones and I have the demo for that. How can I find or download the Xringer samples without purchasing it first. Thanks!
