Need Help... Anyone use Voice notes as much as I do

Hey everyone,

I'm reposting this question because when I posted it before it kind of got buried right away and I didn't get a response.

I use voice notes all the time for little reminders to myself. I don't have a problem with it at all until I try to leave a voice note through my BT headset. when I try to leave myself one with BT connected, it goes through the process as normal and even stores it in the voice note list. Problem is, when I listen to it later, I find only a staticy hum noise is all that is recorded.

This is probably an oversight in software development of the phone, but I'd like to make sure. Anyone else notice this problem, or is it strictly a problem with my phone. It's not a huge issue, but it is a bit of a...

Underdog screensavers on FunMail

Verizon finally got some cool screensavers on one of their services. The funmail wallpaper site on get-gouged-for-it-now has added a section of Underdog screensavers. It has RiffRafff, Barr Sinister, Sweet Polly Purebred, and of course Underdog himself.

Phone resets...all screens go black and phone starts up again

Hi Everyone,

I did some searches on the board, because I think someone might have mentioned this problem, but I think it was an initial reaction to the outer screen going black after being idle.

I have had the phone since its debut at VZW. Overall, i like it, except for the obvious issues mentioned here and that hopefully the firmware will fix.

But since having the phone, on 6 separate ocassions, my phone while in use either talking to someone or switching back to phone use after browsing Mobile Web 2.0, has completely gone blank and reset itself. This is rather annoying as you can imagine and has happend a few times -- even while talking to someone.

I took it to VZW yesterday, and they told me its because I charge it on all th...

I thought that if you change a file from .mp3 to .mid.. it should reduce its size too?? why not?

How come if you d/l a midi file.. its sooo small... but yet if you convert a file from mp3 to midi.. it stays teh same size.. is there maybe a program out there that you can open an mp3 and then save is as midi? That would be great.. to put even MOREEEEE ringers on tcard....

Just got my phone - love it so far, but have a couple questions...

Hi there, this is my first post 🙂

I just traded my LG VX6000 in for a Moto V710 primarily because I was going CRAZY with the LG's *HORRIBLE* reception in my area (Washington, DC and surrounding suburbs). I am a Realtor and was dropping calls left and right all day long, even while standing still, on a corner in downtown DC! Obviously not a good thing in my line of work...

Anyway, I did a little research and I'm pretty happy with my new phone. I'm kind of a techno geek, so I'm excited about the multimedia features (esp music).

Here are my first couple of questions:

-can you change the background (or "wallpaper") on the outside screen?

-I've read a bunch of articles about Motorola and iTunes getting together to make Motoro...

I just received my Jabra 250.. now cant decide whether to stay with 250 or HS820...somebody help

After a few days...i felt that the has820 gets uncomfortable after a while. now the jabra 250 is uncomfortable from the start..the big ear bud is feels too big and the small one feels too small like the headset will fall off or something... the jabra is a b*tch to put on unlike the hs 820... but the jabra looks like it would last longer cause of the sturdy build.. i just dont know.. i dont want both. will have to sell one,, but dont know which.

SERIOUS BUG!! Battery warning BEEPS even when in vibrate or silent mode!

I hope this is just a bug that will be fixed with the flash update. I was in a conference today and my phone started beeping... even though it was in vibrate only mode. I even tested it in silent mode... same thing. Battery low warning still makes audible beeping noise. This is a very stupid design and should be fixed by Motorola!!

Also, not to mention I was very disappointed by battery life today... it did not last nearly as long as it should. My a530 almost NEVER ran out of batter, but this did by 5pm today with only an hour or two of talking. Did not even use camera or BT during day either.

Transflash in stock anywhere?

I ordered two days ago, when it was in stock at Chumbo, but now they are saying backordered with no concrete arrival date.

I've checked all over the place (buy.com, amazon, searched froogle.google.com for it, etc.) with no luck.

Does anyone here know where they are actually in stock?

Thanks.

ps: I know Radio Shack might have them, but at $69, pretty steep.

I'm truly sorry to say that the V710 is 99% being returned...

I had been anxiously waiting for this phone for several months and when I finally convinced Verizon to make an exception and give me the phone at a discounted price, I was excited. I would have looked for any reason to justify keeping the phone.

That said, I really can't justify keeping the phone. I never planned on using Bluetooth, so that was just a nice perk... but there were several features that I was excited about that simply aren't good enough to warrant $250.

1) Speakerphone. Having a speakerphone would be phenomenal, but the only time I would realistically use it is when I'm in the car. The problem is that the volume is too low. You have to hold the phone too close to your mouth, which means that you might as well simply ...

Email Options?

What are my options for email besides Mobile Web Hotmail/AOL?

Is there an email client that can be used for POP/IMAP?

The phone specs claim pop/imap/smpt support.

ATTENTION!!!! CALL MOTOROLA IMMEDIATELY!!!! (READ THIS)

I just decided to call Motorola Tech. Support to ask them a couple of questions that I haven't seen good answers to on this forum.

I called 866.BUY.MOTO and chose:
- English
- Wireless Phones
- OPTION 4 - Software Support
(i found that Software is the only department with competent support. General Support (option 1) are people in India who have a copy of the user manual and say "hold on" so they can look things up after every question - totally useless)

I was speaking to the rep and happened to ask him "When will the BlueTooth File Transfer update come out". He answered "November"

MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH.... I asked him if that would also make the earpiece volume louder and he said: "The earpiece volume isn't loud enough? Wow...

Ear-peice volume adjustment did not work?

I tried the method of increasing the earpeice volume metioned in this link - http://www.nuclearelephant.com/papers/v710.ht ml
to no avail. I did every step and the proceedure seemed to be right - but after I changed it - I noticed no difference. Anyone else tried this method and had any success?

Cover clicks

I recall reading posts a while back about whether or not the phone hinge should click when it's opened and closed. Some people said their phone clicked, and others insisted that their phone was absoltutely silent. My V710 has a very distinct click whenever it is opened or closed. It doesn't bother me, but is there any reason for me to be concerned. I've got 3 days left before my return period expires.

Received my free Motorola HS810 today!!

For being one of the first to register my v710.

Looks like they're being shipped from MN. I live in MN so that's probably why I received mine as quick as I did.

For those of you who received the congratulatory email, be on the lookout. They're on their way!
