selecting ringtones kinda sucks, don't you think?
When selecting a different ringtone, it is SO annoying that the phone puts you back at the beginning of the menu instead of keeping you at the current selection in the list. UGH!!
Any way around this MOTOROLA!!! Come on guys?!
My cable box sometimes does this - sticking me back at channel 2 when I select 'program guide'...when I'm on channel 125 or 405 or whatever. UGH! so damn annoying, and such a waste of time.
Plus, why aren't the ringtones sorted by name and why can't you select them by pressing first letter of the ringtone name like you can select people's names from your phonebook. UGH, this seems such common-sense to me.
Jeez, if only I worked on the Motorola product / ergonomic team.

Bluetooth voice quality problem
I have a Lincoln LS with built-in bluetooth, and I'm finding that the sound quality of my new V710 when using this built-in bluetooth system is horrible. I've had difficulty carrying on conversations with people, and I never had that problem with my Samsung and it's hard-wired car kit. With the bluetooth, people keep saying that they can't understand what I'm saying. Then when I switch off the bluetooth and talk into the phone they say that it sounds MUCH better. Tonight I had my son take my car and phone for a drive and call me at home so that I could hear for myself what it sounds like. They're right! The voice quality is so poor that it's barely intelligble. It sounds very weak, tinny, and somewhat garbled.
I don't know whether...

Transflash & SD Reader/Writer
Maybe the random problems people are having with transferring file has to do with some of the "crappy" SD Reader/Writers. Can the people who are having NO problems let us know what SD Reader/Writer they are using.
Thanx in advance.

Another Screwup from Motorola programmers. Listen to this...
This phone has so much stupid programming, like a beeping battery alarm that sounds even when in vibrate or silent mode. But now I've come across another stupid programming feature...
When the phone is PLUGGED IN the charger... and you are talking on it.... the screen goes black after awhile. Normally this would be fine... although if your phone is plugged in, I don't know why they couldn't keep power to the screen so that when you are on speakerphone you can see the call timer or something.
HOWEVER.... when you UNPLUG the phone and talk on the phone with BATTERY POWER.... the screen only DIMS and does NOT go off. SO, when on battery power, the phone is programmed to use MORE power by keeping the screen lit (although dim)... and w...

For those that ordered the SANDISK Transflash card yesterday...
Have you checked the order status today? What does it say?
Mine says "Order sent to warehouse". Others on HoFo have reported that their order status says "Backordered/Preordered".

what size do pics that are put on the transflash and set to wallpaper have to be in order to "fit" on the screen without looking stupid, stretched, and blocky. Thanks
Phone is now Scratched
😢
Unbelievable, I have had the phone for 3 weeks now, past my 15 days from Radio Shack and wala, this morning I was cleaning the screen and there it was, the burned image of the KEYS it seems in perfect order like the keys touched the screen and burned in an image or scatch
Now what do I do
I can not return the phone its past 15 days, any suggestions from anyone?
I can not believe Mot would do this release a phone that clearly was not ready for prime time and Quality controlled
Please advise team, I am angry I spent all this money and now I have a scatched phone due to not me doing anything, but rather the darn space between the keys and the screen is too close
Thanks all
PS
Verizon, MOT are you listening????

Easy way to convert movie files
I just want to be able to convert movie files from the PC to the SD card to watch on this phone but there is no proces that does not make it easy to use. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction for a program that does not take such a lengthy time and is also free and easy to use?

Toggling/Switching bluetooth
I bought the HS820 Headset and was very happy to find that when I paired it with my computer it set it up as a normal headset, where I could hear sound (Music) and even use it as a microphone (works well with voie recognition software! Dragon 7.0) My only problem is that when I do this it won't let me switch the headset between my computer and my phone. Thus in order to get it to work correctly I have to re-pair the phone with my v710. Anyone have any ideas?

Body Glove case seems to be out--sort of
Here's a link for the Body Glove case (item no. 9032803) listing on the Fellowes website, but it doesn't seem to be for sale online--only at retailers. Probably another couple of weeks before it's really available.

Outer screen information Question
Hey all,
Haven't seen this question posted, but has anyone else noticed that when someone calls and you don't answer, if you press the speakerphone button with the clamshell closed it displays the name. You can use the up and down to scroll through your recent calls..... BUT how do you make it go away without opening the clamshell?
My old v60 did this as well, but you could hit the bottom button (same position as speakerphone) and it would return to the date/time...
I know that if you hit the vol up/down buttons first and not the speakerphone button, it will clear the screen back to the date/time. As well as, if the screen turns off and you want to check for missed calls without opening, you can hit the voice-command button to jus...
