Possible shortage of this phone...

Hi, I live in Alabama and used to work for Motorola in Birmingham. Two of my friends still work there and say that Verizon has cancelled or suspended their second run order for this model. This is probably going to cause shortages of this phone if that info proves to be true. I would not recommend this phone to anyone but if it is something you feel you really want regardless of the quality you might want to get one quickly. I am a fan of motorola products but this one just falls short in my opinion. Luckily I was able to get cust. service to agree to allow me to return this phone even though I am outside my 15 day trial. They said they would give me the benefit of the doubt since Verizon is aware of so many problems and the phone has such a...

Need help with HS820/ v710

Just got the combo from vzw. Followed instructions and got the bt device discovery set up fine. Was able to make a couple of calls with the HS820 but after using my Etycom wired earpiece with the 710 once, the HS820 refuses to work.

Still listed as bt device in the v710 but all I get is one low tone or one hi tone when trying to connect with the HS820.

Can anybody suggest a fix? I'm about ready to return the HS820 as I'm at a loss.😢
Thanks, captmas

Mp3's not storing on transflash

I took my transflash card and put it into my SD slot on my laptop... I dragged and copies about 30 MP3s, but could only pull up 16 on the phone's MP3 player... i checked the free space and it said I still had about 20 megs left... anyone know why I can't play all the MP3s i loaded onto the transflash on my phone, and just a select few???

over in the "Verizon Launches Megapixel Camera Phone with Bluetooth" discussion:

v710 another Motorola Lemon

I have had this phone for 5 days. As I type this, the screen on it is completely blank on the desk in front of me. I am a Verizon Dealer, and this phone will be going back to Motorola first thing this morning when I get to work. I am going back to my VX7000, bluetooth or no bluetooth. At least I knew it would work when I turned it on. And for my part, I wish Verizon would drop the entire Motorola line altogether. I owe them thanks for fully 80% of my dissatisfied customers due to their shoddy handsets. If you are looking for the next great thing in cell phones, keep looking. This is not it.

Dual NAM phone?

I've been told there are phones that have a dual NAM configuration - which allows you to effectively have 2 phone numbers on the same phone (handy).

I've not been able to get much technical information about the v710 -- but I seem to recall a setting "Add a line" or something in there.

Can anyone tell me if the v710 is a dual-NAM capable phone?

Thanks.

Successfully downloaded ring tones!!

THIS WORKS!!

FIRST GO TO WWW.VZWPIX.COM AND REGISTER AS A USER.

THEN, GO TO TH IS SITE: http://homepage.mac.com/powers22/
THIS SITE WAS POSTED HERE THIS MORNING.

DOWNLOAD THE 2 ZIP FILES OF RING TONES TO YOUR HARD DRIVE.
THERE ARE ENOUGH RINGTONES THERE FOR ANYONE, BELIEVE ME, YOU WILL FIND SOMETHING YOU LIKE!

ATTACH ONE AT A TIME TO AN EMAIL, AND SENT IT TO YOUR PHONE:
[email protected]

OPEN THE MAIL, AND SCROLL DOWN TO THE ATTACHED FILE AND OPEN IT. IT WILL FIND ITS WAY INTO THE RINGTONES LIST.

HAVE FUN!!! MANY THANKS TO POWERS22 FOR SHARING THE RINGTONES!

Bluetooth Contact/Calendar Sync vs. Mobile PhoneTools???

I've been keeping an eye out on this forum with respect to the Verizon limiting the Bluetooth capabilities on this phone. As a result, I gathered that they have turned off the feature that would allow one to synchronize this phone with personal contacts on their PC/Laptop? If this is correct, can someone please confirm that this capability will be enabled once the firmware update is complete?

Is Motorola just offering Mobile Phonetools for customers who do not have bluetooth compatible hardware? Does anyone know if there is anything that Mobile Phonetools can do that bluetooth cannot?

Free MP3's, all you have to do is convert them

Go to walmart.com and search for any disc/song you want. Just right click on the sample song to save it on your own drive. Rename it and send it to your phone. They are already only 30 seconds long... It's works perfect

Emailing ring tones

First..I'm still waiting for my transflash card :-)
I have noticed that some ring tones I send to my phone change the ext. from .mid to .midi which the phone does not understand. I have sent the same ring several times and it still renames itself with that .midi extension.
Any ideas? I have sent several other ring tones with no problem.

Express network vs. qnc

I am hoping someone has info on this. I am using the V710 to connect to the internet via bluetooth from a Pocket PC. As per a thread on this forum, I am using #777 as the dial-up number, my mobile#@vzw3g.com as the user name, and vzw as the password. It connects, however it seems to be at the 14.4 speed and not the faster express network speed. Verizon's tech support didn't seem to think that you could select between the 2 services. If anyone has some info, I would appreciate it.
