Motorola V710

i can transfer ringtones from transflash card to phone but they only play 3seconds of song and then repeat. the file is only 25seconds long. anyone help thanks

HOT OFF THE PRESS!

I've been on the phone with Motorola Public Relations and Verizon Corporate Communications all day. Here is the deal:

Motorola PR, Monica Rohleder: "The phone does support Bluetooth file transfer right now, but it is up to the carrier to decide whether it is something they will offer to their customers or not.". Monica has confirmed that Verizon has requested OBEX remain disabled at the moment while they research security issues, but recommended I contact Verizon for more information. This is somewhat good news, because it suggests there is an Op-Code (probably 66*Something) to enable the OBEX profile.

So my phone had about 1 bar of battery life left when I powered it down to remove the transflash card. After I tried to power it back on, it just shows the "HELLOMOTO" welcome screen for about .5 seconds and then the screen goes black, and this whole process repeats over and over again. The only way to stop this is to remove the battery. After placing the battery back in, with the phone still being off, I tried plugging it into the charger. Well it still does the whole flickering thing.

I searched and saw that your friend had the same problem. How was he able to get the phone started again?

any ideas as to why an mp3 wont play in a playlist but will play by itself? 😕

I got a TF card today, formatted the card on my phone first, then copied files to the card from my PC. When I try to access the card, it either freezes or does nothing.

After the issue I checked some boards out, and noticed some people saying turn off your phone before inserting. I did not. Could this be why? I have since been turning it on and off, properly, and formatted it once again but still getting the same reults.

Any ideas?

Can the USB data transfer cable be used to transfer files (i.e. pictures and mp3s) to and from the phone?
I've looked through a number of posts and have not been able to find a definite answer to my question. If it has already been answered, I apologize. Any information you could give me would be very helpful? (Otherwise my $30 data cable purchase was a total waste.)

After all the hype. After all the speculation. I was so excited about this phone coming to Verizon. The excitement. The anticipation! Waiting for this phone to arrive reminds me of wehn I waited for the MINI Cooper I bought, to arrive ... Only, turns out ... the MINI Cooper is smaller 🤣 . The phone is huge in my opinion, with a beefy antenna stub to add even more bulk. The pre-release photos just had my mouth watering, but to hold it in your hand well, it was just another clamshell to me. Additionally, the Motorola site, which promised to "let me be the first to know the release date" ... E-mailed me a full week after Radio Shack was pushing the phones ... What a joke. Seems most of the posts in this forum are of the negative ...

I recently notice the Microsoft make a bluetooth computer mouse and keyboard.

Has any use this product before?

Sound like a great product to add bluetooth to a computer.

Alright I've had this phone for a few days now and so far.. its a good phone... yeah some let downs but since I've worked with CDMA phones for years now I am used to not having a phone that does everything that it should IE Nokia 6185i w/sprint(infared was there just never supported), MOTO 270c first blue tooth(great phone except no downloadable stuff, and then the infamis T720c overall a good phone just took them a while to get it right expect for its major lag... and now the v710 with the locked up features that we all want...

The main reason for the post is about this damn outter display on the phone.... I can't stand the background... has anyone been able to change it? I don't even care about getting another pic there I just want to ...

I don't see any way to change the display/format of the outer screen (the screen visible outside, when the phone is closed).

I'd like to change the wallpaper, etc.

For that matter, is there a FAQ on these issues maintained anywhere...

i have had this phone since the first day it was released...not too many happy customers is all i can say....verizon NEEDED a blue tooth phone like any other carrier but then again when u have a speaker phone i dont understand the blue tooth only compatible with the handsfree devices for now...i hope they come out with the pc sync software ASAP...the flash practically does nothing for the pictures...try taking a picture in the club and lemme know how it comes out that is if u can see yourself in that thing...i havent tried downloading mp3s on the phone yet so i dont know how many can it hold...which actually iz a nice feature for the phone but then again eats up so much battery...rather carry an ipod...overall am not too happy with the perfo...

I you send a text message first you put the number then you goto the next screen you type your message then the next screen is a confirmation page. If you hit the menu key at this point you have "send later" as one of the things you can do. You pick a time to send your message and then it will send it to the network for send at your set time. so your phone does not need to be on for it to send.
Has anyone got "send later" to work?
my phone says it has been sent to network but it never gets delivered

Hey everyone! I just purchased the V710 yesterday but at an independent retailer so all sales are final as they ride on commission. I've been reading all the messages and it seems that a lot of people are having problems with the earpiece and the camera. Personally, I think the phone is off the hook, but the camera does need some work. It just looks very dark. Since we did pay so much money for this phone, do u guys think motorola will release any upgrades for our phone such as software or firmware? That would be great if they could do that cuz i just wish my pictures were less dark even in lighted areas. Thanx for your responses guys and gals. =)

I'm thinking about how to build up the 2 small rubber bumpers to reduce keypad contact with the display. Maybe, a very tiny bit of clear caulking, flexible glue, or liquid rubber applied with a toothpick to each bumper ... flatten and let dry. It looks like all they need is a little more height to work better. I'll have to check out Home Depot. Trying to avoid having to use a screen protector or a case covering.

Do u have to format it in the phone b4 u can take pics on it? The manual says to go to settings --> phone status then storage devices but I dont see any "phone status" option on my phone

The keys on my V710 are silent when I press them - that is, they make no sound to confirm the key stroke. I am aware of the "Keytone Volume" setting that is accessed by going to menu-settings-ring styles-detail. Even when I set the Keytone Volume to the highest setting, there's no sound when I press the keys unless I have the internal speakerphone turned on. Aren't the keys supposed to make sounds even when the speakerphone is off? If so, is there another setting that I'm missing, or do I have a defective phone?

After a week with this phone I'm pretty much satisfied. I didn't buy it to be a camera and I'm disappointed Bluetooth isn't fully functional but I'll be keeping the phone.

I'd like to get one for my wife but she works for a defense contractor and camera phones aren't allowed. Do you think it's possible/probable that Motorola would make an interchangeable cover plate that would remove the silver camera lens bezel and cover it over?

By the way, I installed MPT last night and spent over an hour getting it to sync up with the phone. Took two liveupdates to get it working. Motorola's web site should have contained some type of FAQ on getting this software to work with MPT.

Why is it when i change the speed dial number of one of the contacts in my phone book it erases the existing entry with that number?

for example. I have Mom on entry #122 and I want her to be Entry #4 but #4 is Work. If I switch Mom to #4 then work gets deleted!!!

This used to happen on my 270C also. I figured that Motorola would have fixed this glitch.

Am I doing something wrong?
