It is no required to get yoru photo contacts to work and is destructive to the data on yoru phone. You WILL lose all of your contacts,pictures, sounds and any other data you have placed on the phone. The answer is to change your external display to style 2.

This setting can be found on the last page of setting in the phone settings selection. This in my opinion is benificial in two parts as it loses the cingular banner and changes it to just date and time and after that you photo contacts will work!

I WAS RIGHT!!!!!!

My most recent theory was that it had something to do with the style selection for external display.

start=>settings=>more...=>more...=>phone settings

Thanks for the infomation. I received my information from Motorola but once again, MPXers better reley on each other instead of Moto. You are right, when you do the process (even though it did work), you will lose your contacts/photos. Let me ask this question, can you have your photo ID contacts show on your internal screen but have a regular screen saver on the external??? 🙄

You mean keep a wallpaper showing on external display and only see the photo ID on the internal display? I don't know, I would say it worked that way when you have external style #1 selected and photo attached. I have mine set to answer when flip opens, so I didn't know if the photo was popping up on internal display when the external was still showing the default wallpaper.

Seems to me it would work, but I want it to show on the external. I just wish it would show the pic on the whole screen, instead of taking up 1/4 of the little external display to show name and number for caller ID. Kinda pointless when I see the freakin' person's pic who is calling me.

Dude, I totally agree. What a bloody waste of the screen. If I see the picture, "hey, guess what?" I know who my contact is!!! Wow, I must be a rocket scientist. Also, you are correct about my question: See, I want wallpaper on the external screen and photo ID on the internal. Don't forget to let me know how your photo ID is working when your friends start calling from the holidays!!! 😎

This did not work for me. 😡 The option to attach a picture to a contact is still shaded.

I think the issue here is that the contact was not coming up when the caller dialed into your phone, just a generic graphic would come up. The you describe is a new one and I am not sure what it would take to resolve.. sorry!
